And? people can do whatever they want with their time. I think devs doesn't have a contract or are getting paid by their time here. Also most of them are not running a private server as most people does and are having an income with that. How about if we mention the amount of people that runs private servers and never had commited something to this emulator? Thats more interesting. Because if you think that open source software like this one should resides by only 5~ individuals, then you are wrong. Edit: Alternatively, there has been a restructure of the contribution of people at this project, which has increased the amount of free files or commits as a requirement of paid services. That has increased the amount of files and overall activity at a community level on this the forum. Which is something great. That is how everything should be done. Focussing everything to the contribution of the whole community, not depending only of few staff members to maintain everything.3 points

Very self explanatory title huh? At the current moment I'm working on a Dice Event. This event consist in: Players use the command @dice (which have the same effect of /dice with the dice rolling and showing result) and keeping themselves or being kicked out from the event depending on result (there are many rounds, the one who remains most rounds will be the winner). The event itself is already scripted, except for the "map interaction" porcentage. - screenshot for reference What I'm requesting is a script that uses a 'for' or 'while' (or something with the same effect) that grab the 1st guy to enter the map (trough the command @event) and leave him in 'xzc yxc coord', the next guy will be placed in 'xck ysx coord', and so on... (all coordinates are static, just need a huge list for that), until it reaches 84 players (because there are 84 dices on the map) or the time limit (5 mins) is reached. (something fully efficient/no missing parts or bugs - like auto reseting the counter after the event and so) I'll add your script in the base event script and place your credits there; Also the map and the script will be shared with all commu (rA and Hercules) - with your credits in download description. You can even upload it by yourself. The only thing you shouldn't do is to remove other people credit (since you will have the map and the full script in hands before we share it, as you wish). P.S.: I'm going to work in some more events, so if you want to script a bit more or have your own script/idea and want a map for it, post it here or PM-me and I'll do my best to create a map for a great package of events that we can share here. P.S.2: If you decide to work on it please leave a message here telling us, because posted this request also on Hercules community. @edit map finished , here is the previous version: Thank you, Angel CREDITS: Event script: Rhina Map design: Angel1 point

Hey Chem- Sorry to disappoint, but as far as I'm aware, this is simply a product of how lights are rendered in RO, which is not necessarily how they are displayed in Browedit. If you've played the game for a long time, you may not have noticed it on Gravity maps, but when you start making maps of your own, it becomes pretty easy to see! Here are some examples, from the Ayothaya and Glastheim dungeons. The Problem: http://i.imgur.com/1xoHg40.jpg Ayothaya Dungeon F2! http://i.imgur.com/73ciS6I.jpg Glastheim Castle F2! Oh no! Rings! While we can't solve the technical side of this problem without some major sourcecode tinkering (I think, anyway), we can draw peoples attention away from this through good map design! An improvement! The best way I find to do this is to avoid putting lights out in the open, with no variations in the ground texture or elevation to break up the rings. Laying down multiple lights unevenly is one way to do this. Take a look ingame at Comodo, and you'll see what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/l2xSCNU.jpg Comodo's beach! http://i.imgur.com/wS6k2qZ.jpg Something sort of similar I did! (Probably not the best example, but this map was made a year or two ago.) If you have a lot of lights close together, their edges will blend and you'll be left with peanut shapes instead of rings! Which is... an improvement, I guess? Textures! The best solution to this problem may not be applicable to every map, but where you can do this, you should! It's easy to see the rings on a flat surface, or an open area with a single texture repeated. If you place down a more complicated texture, however, it can make the the rings almost impossible to see. Having textures that compliment a light source (Like a bright floor emitting light from itself) can also do wonders to make lights look better ingame. Here are some examples in a new map I'm putting together: http://i.imgur.com/1LNGqmI.jpg Snazzy blues and greens! http://i.imgur.com/dOpMqry.jpg The base of the Ferris Wheel is all elevated ground and walls, which I got a bit lucky with! http://i.imgur.com/iMWsgGV.jpg A lit-up keyboard! If you look closely, you can also see a bit of that light-peanutting I mentioned before. Yes, that is the technical term from now on. http://i.imgur.com/Ra47Vax.jpg Even Gravity does this! Endless Tower has many great examples of this, especially with the complex floor pattern at the top of the tower. (I'd screencap that but I forgot the map name.) TL;DR: Can you get rid of the rings? No, but you can make people not notice them. Consider where your light source would be in this little world you're making, explore what you can do with varied textures, ground elevations and effects, and follow this rule of thumb that you might've already caught onto: Big lights tend to have bigger rings, and more intense lights tend to have more rings, but each ring is smaller. As to why your lights are green? No idea! It looks like all your color values are set evenly, and I'll assume you haven't got any green in the map's ambient lighting either, so that's probably just a distortion product of RO's light rendering. Hope that helps!1 point

Fimbulwinter Client http://blog.fimbulwinter.org/ Overview Yes, this is another client project as I'm not satisfied with the current ones. FimbulwinterClient is developed in C++ using a barebone engine called YA3DE that I developed for use on it, remembers a lot XNA. The project was being developed in C# but with the release of MSVC11 with almost full C++11 support I decided to port it to C++ to take advantage of the new features. I don't plan to target old compilers that doesn't support the new spec as the major compilers already support it. YA3DE YA3DE(Yet Another 3D Engine) is a 3d engine that I developed to use it in my client. It remembers a lot of XNA but is in C++ and uses only OpenGL 3. Roadmap Map rendering: Done, perhaps the normal calculation isn't good at the moment. Mode rendering: Same as above. GUI: In development. Actors rendering: To be done. Network: To be done. Source code and license The project is licensed under GNU GPLv3 and the source can be found on my github repository: https://github.com/g...al/fimbulclient Screenshots Playing with the new GUI system Prontera prt_maze with surface colors Castle Prontera indoors Niflheim Comodo About the GUI https://github.com/greenboxal/fimbulclient/wiki/GUI-Overview I'll use the Awesomium project to create the game GUI, it's a hacked source of Chrominium that can be rendered and used in any project. Yes, the GUI will be done using HTML5+CSS3, but we have a problem: I suck at web programming and I really need help to develop a pretty GUI. So, if anybody is willing to help you can contact me Just for clarification, the 3d rendering is not web based, just the GUI. The world rendering is done with OpenGL and YA3DE. I'm developing the project alone and it's really a painful but rewarding task and I would be really thankful if someone helped me on this project. Thanks for your time, The green hollow cube.1 point

Both would involve setting and checking a variable upon executing your commands. You can set a bit variable via source upon executing "@channel leave <>", or bind the atcommand to a script and set the variable that way. Much easier. Bind an atcommand that sets the variable. - script #chan_control -1,{ OnInit: bindatcmd("channeljoin",strnpcinfo(0)+"::OnChannelJoin"); end; OnChannelJoin: set channel_join_off, !channel_join_off; message strcharinfo(0),"Channel auto-join is now "+((channel_join_off)?"disabled":"enabled")+"."; end; OnPCLoginEvent: if (!channel_join_off) { atcommand "@join #main"; atcommand "@join #support"; atcommand "@join #trade"; } end; }1 point
