I wanted to try something simple, small and sweet. So I thought about creating the smallest possible BrowEdit map based on the required parameters of making a map. To do this I had to use the new-map function to create the map as well as calculating quad-trees. So this is what the results are: 1. Map size of 8x8 2. GAT Size of 15x15 3. Objects Used: 24 4. Tiles Used: 64 5. Lightmaps Calculated: 64 The theme I chose for this quick little project was a prison. So there you have it. A prison cell for your naughty players in the smallest map posibble that can be made by BrowEdit (dimension wise). The map's file size is ridiculously small so implementing this will not require a large patch (Total of 96.5 KB including the GAT, GND and RSW files). Enjoy.Free -

This program is extremely useful for GRF management and migration. You can easily open a GRF and extract specific contents via a tree-list view. You can also convert the text type of your files to korean characters with a simple click. This program was designed by Rasqual Twilight and was originally released for free to the eA community (still is free to use). This upload is merely to preserve this wonderful tool.Free -

No problem. ^^

The Atlantas City created was before it was flooded by water. The city itself is protected by some magic power preventing the sea from sinking the city. This is why I didn't add too much growth of sea weed and fungi on objects. However protruding grounds and more details are good ideas to improve the map. Thanks for your feedback though. I appreciate it. =)

Use UnBollox to translate your gibberish words. You can find it in the tools section of ratemyserver.net. After you translate, copy the new word and compare.

Im not sure what you did to install the map or what client you're using. I tested the map using the GRF I uploaded and I had no problems. My client read the GRF only to gather all necessary resources when loading the map. No files were saved in a data folder.

indeed that turbo room is a one-of-a-kind map. However, the map I created was designed based upon request. I just decided to deduce a formal release to the public as well for those who might find the map useful.

Would love to have you on board GreenBox. I'll message you. =)

The easy and ONLY way to do it is to use the following tool built in BrowEdit. Tools -> Lightmap -> Export Open the PNG file containing the shadow placements. It looks like this: e.g) 1@tower Notice how I changed all of the grey spots to white spots at the top left hand corner. This will remove the shadows. Once you have completed this, go to Tools -> Lightmap -> Import and it should select the shadow lightmap after you hit OK. End Result Difference. Perhaps I'll make a BrowEdit tutorial on this in the future.

A standard 24 bit BMP Image can support 16,777,216 colors. A 256 bmp holds only as it says 256 colors. As long as theres less than 256 colors in your original 24 bit BMP when you convert the image, you will have a loss of quality until you make your image match that specificiation.

Syouji What value ? (in sound properties BrowEdit)

Interesting. I didn't know that. ;o -
Syouji What value ? (in sound properties BrowEdit)
Syouji replied to boylive's question in Graphics Support
In complete honesty, I really don't know what each value represents (Value 1 ~ 6) in a sound point. In order to get sounds to work, I simply copy and paste other sounds from Gravity maps using Global Height Edit Mode on to my custom map. Once I save the map and close it, those sounds are active on the map. If you re-open the map and add more sounds, then the previous sounds you added won't work (tested with BrowEdit 586). So it's important you add all the sounds you need in your map before you save and close it. Adding sounds is the absolute final step of creating a map. As a final note, you can watch the Sound Edit tutorial I created for a visual learning experience. (See my signature for quick navigation to the tutorial thread - Tutorial #6) -

The city of Atlantis. This town consists of the following areas and features: 1. Baron Square For all of you LoL (League of Legends) players out there, I've imported the Christmas Version of Baron as the central piece of attraction in the square of Atlantis City. Baron is worshiped and governs the city. 2. Atlantis Palace Atlantis comes equipped with a royal palace which houses the elite that controls the city such as the queen, king, and other royal members. It is located directly North of Atlantis positioned in the middle-top of the map. 3. Court Yard Flower Meadow Directly South of Atlantis is a small courtyard containing several underwater plants and flowers to serve as a great place to socialize or house NPCs. 4. Houses There are several buildings West of Atlantis. They are there to serve as a local inn, tool shop, weapon/armor shop, magic shop, etc. 5. Exit Points Atlantis has several exit areas. The exit West of the City was originally designed to connect to an underwater field. You can use this for w/e you want. The exit located at the very bottom right of the map (South-East) shows a cave entrance. You can use this to connect to an underground pathway to some destination or w/e you want. Finally, there is an exit at the middle-right of the city. You will notice there is a nice flowery pathway leading towards it complete with statues and pillars. This can be used to connect to a sacred area or anything else you can come up with. 6. Waterfall Enclosure The entire city is surrounded by waterfalls producing the idea that the water is being controlled, preventing it from drowning the city. Whats controlling the water are specific pillars at different corners around the map which have magic powers of some sort.. The package provided is already packed as a GRF and ready to be added to your server. You will notice that I attached the .EXTRA file to the GRF. With this file you will be able to have a mapper edit the map without losing the currently assigned lightmaps. Therefore, feel free to edit the map but credits are still owed to me.Free -

Once the core functions have been made, I will give out more info about what BrowEdit 2.0 has to offer as a competitive edge to its previous version.

1. ) Make sure you updated your map_cache accordingly to what your map is set to 2. ) In some cases raising the map above a water level of -20 fixes GAT readings on a map.

[Guide] Syouji's BrowEdit Tutorial Videos
Syouji replied to Syouji's topic in Maps & 3D Modeling Showcase
Sorry, not possible with the current RO client. You have to overwrite a currently used sky map by gravity with your custom map's name to accomplish this task. Perhaps in a custom client you can do this. -
How to remove brown fog from Einbroch map?
Syouji replied to nanakiwurtz's question in Graphics Support
This map could be hard coded in the client itself to call the fog effect. You would have to open your client with a hex editor and locate the map name "einbroch' and then simply overwrite it with another name of a map that doesnt exist. That should fix it. -

Thats configured in your viewpointtable.txt (client side file). I haven't played around much with this file however this is what you would use to limit a map's zoom and camera angle.
