  1. The burden of presentation is on the shoulders of the administrator that runs his/her server. While we do provide the base (the emulator, the vanilla ragnarok or as close to it as we can get ), it's not our responsibility to make other people's servers unique. We can certainly make the software easier to customize, but that's the server admin's responsibility to make fun and interesting custom content. This is why I posted earlier that I am not above having a plugin framework for rAthena. It would allow users to distribute modifications much easier than what's in place now. It would be a lot easier to drop a few .dll/.so files in a folder and they just work as opposed to having to build a new binary for even the smallest changes and have to do all kinds of user support because somebody doesn't know what a compiler is, or they thought you just save the .c files and it just works automatically or they didn't add it correctly and now they have compile errors.

  2. Hello rAthena members, I just wanted to take a minute out of the day to sincerely thank the entire rAthena team in creating everything they have for the "little people". No, not trying to suck-up or anything, just showing some gratitude for something we all really appreciate. All of the hard work and dedication put into this is unbelievable, and I can not wait to see what's to come in the future. Feel free to say something nice about the rAthena team below, I'm sure they'd appreciate it! Much love! <3

  4. Hello everyone! I figured I'd just make one of these threads that I have as my official free 'map' thread. Listed below is some maps I've done that are free to the public. I do not wish for them to be edited, but they ARE free and you are free to edit them. You are ALSO free to contact me if you need something edited specifically for your server from these maps. CREDITS would be awesome and please do NOT take credit for my work. It's bothersome and makes me a very sad panda ;~; Also you guys are more than free to add me on Facebook. There are maps uploaded onto my facebook that are not uploaded onto RMS/rA/eA. Also there will be constant updates for when I map. A little bit about this map. It was created specifically for a Lunar Event for a server I worked on not that long ago. Unfortunately it never got used so I'm releasing it to the public to do with it what you wish. I hope you like it and please report if you are having any issues. Please note that if your RO is not up to date you may not see the Red Carpet in the main part of the temple, if you decide to use the inside maps. Album of Lunar Map: Click here! Please note that the Album shows for Hallow Town and the Vending map that I had planned on doing, unfortunately the Vending Map is no where near complete, but you can view what I had started doing. It was supposed to be kitty themed for events, there are no indoors maps at this time although i'd love to, at one point, make the indoors maps. The map HASNT been used yet, so if you find any glitches feel free to let me know. Two things that was asked of me for this map was an area for weddings and a 'gm only' area. Thats what the two paws are for, you can walk through the water to the wedding area but only GMs will be able to warp to the other paw, unless players get lucky with Fwings. =] Hope you guys like it. Hope you guys like it, please feel free to report any bugs. :3 Also it would be awesome if you would please give credits

  5. I'm sure this will be highly accepted. I think anyone who's played RO consistently has experienced the pain of moving a few dozen items to/from storage.

  7. No. If you edit the /conf/battle/misc.conf and set it to yes... It should be... turbo_room mapflag autotrade @at will be enabled in that one map only.

  10. We got a SketchyPhoenix advocate over here! Anywho, the idea of a plugin framework sounds dandy. But, one of the reasons no-one uses the current plugin system is because there's no support right now for adding callback methods for areas of the source. If you wanted to add something to battle_calc_weapon_attack, how would you manage that via. a plugin right now? It can't be done, and to implement a plugin system would mean providing callback support through-out the whole source. Unless anyone has any better suggestions for implementing a plugin system? I'd be more than happy to discuss it and get some implemented

  13. only downside on doing this, is by any chance your Patcher becomes Unavailable, Players can't Play.

  15. I noticed that part of your map's terrain level seems to be off its scale at one of the corners. If you move your camera around to that corner in the big carpet room it will fall down to the gat level of that lowered terrain causing your screen to turn black. I fixed it for you and attached the updated map to this. This fix was edited based on your latest revision of the map that had the walls fixed. xLunar Complete.7z

  16. Excellent release on Lunar. Love the style and theme you chose and how you put it together. Im not sure if you've tested this before but whenever I do lightmaps on walls, if I dont have any textures behind the wall the actual lightmaps on the walls become skewed and messed up. If I apply a black outline behind the wall, everything works normally. I like how you optimized wall locations in a players POV, keep it up.

  17. No screens this time, but expect to get some with my next post. I have finished orbit camera control today (even though it's pretty easy to do with ogre) and noticed something while I compared some old screens made with the orignial client and those screens made with my implementation. It looks like objects have a different angular area. Most applications use 45° - 60° for the y-dimension field of view. Ragnarok, however, seems to have 20° (gives almost identical results). However, I doubt they use 20°, but moreover 340°, which results in a verticaly flipped y-axis (sounds familiar, huh? probably a mistake made by Gravity a decade ago when they built the projection matrix with DirectX7). I don't have the desire to reverse engineer this part of the original client to be 100% sure, so did someone made already research in this area and can confirm my assumption?

  18. Adding all of those source modifications just makes for more unnecessary upkeep. Though I'm not above the idea that rAthena could use a good plugin framework for its most customized features.

  19. What I plan on doing with this there's a lot more going on than Lua's string library!

  20. rAthena should stay close a what the official server scripts/commands need.

  21. Just my two cents here, but I don't think adding all these various @ commands will help much at all. One of the main reasons we don't implement all these features is to reduce over-head file size, developer work and CPU run-time of the actual emulator. It'd be a novel idea to implement these custom commands, but in terms of relevance, or even importance, to the rAthena project it's simply not worth us looking into for the time being. Like you said, we are pretty busy trying to wrap up some of the bugs reported and we're also trying to reverse engineer the mechanics of renewal down to perfection, we just don't have time to be scouting the source modifications section attempting to find worth-while edits that could be committed to the SVN The edge we have right now is that we're continuously fixing the reported bugs, continuously revamping areas of the source to greatly improve efficiency, and that we're working as hard as we can to try and perfect the renewal mechanics and classes for official implementation. Besides, I think it takes no to little effort to implement a custom @ command using a download.
