Hackshield or Harmony ?

Harmony is not dead : It took me 4 weeks to be in contact with Sirius White because for some reason, my emails were considered Junk and he never got them.

Because I tried to have a contact with him trough all different forums/webistes he was related to, I finally got a response from him.

Maybe the same happens to you. Keep mailing, use different ways.

By the way, guys : Concerning HARMONY (which is a great tool, I confirm); Have you heard about people able to see GMs being on @hide despite the harmony protection ?

Really I have doubts about a particular player, but of course I can't prove it....

I find Harmony to be the best valuable source of protection. However, iROnic, I doubt that's even possible since really, you would have to temper with your client and the way harmony is set up, if the server detects modifications from your client the server wont allow you to login.

gerome do you have program that i can encrypt my grf? cuz i found that the grf encryptor have bypass

make new grf. merge the grf [ encrypted ]. then you can extract it now!

Well, i still haven't heard about sirius_white after a month. Maybe he already abandoned his harmony. xD

He isn't even answering on his forums. His Linux compatibility was on the 'plan' for like more than 5 months now lol.

Anyway, Harmony is fine, there's a rumor (privately) that it can be bypassed but was never leaked. I know some hotkeys are still working on servers even with the latest version of Harmony.

Please take in mind that the protection against using hotkeys or other macro-like stuff is in development, mostly not working for every possible tool and therefore Harmony does not even advertise with blocking hotkey/macro tools.

The majority of the post I read about Harmony being bypassed were that people were able to use hotkey/macro tools. Also there is still the chance that the server owner just mis-configured Harmony so that some kind of tools work.

If the hackshield you is talking about is nProtect HackShield it works blocking applications in a very more low level way(hooking systems syscalls).

I'm surprised. It used to be that Harmony was the one thing that made players quit (simply because it broke servers). There was a long discussion about it on the RMS forums and more than not, people were against it. Has Harmony improved, or have people just failed to set the correct settings until recently? o_0

Yeah right, I read their discussion that's why a simple protection will do like 'Hackshield' if we can use it for RagexeRE.

Probably no, unless you crack it. Your server also will need to be modified to apply the appropriated cryptography on the network and reply to certain packets.

I think it's mainly cause of the fact people don't know how to read guidelines specified for harmony given in their PDF. =/

HackShield isn't free ._.

You must buy a license with AhnLab(although I don't know where)

You can use Gravity's HackShield though. I used it when I was still running a server.. Do not tick the "Disable HShield" in diff patcher, and do not rename your EXE. Run your exe normally and hackshield files will be downloaded automatically.

You have to add checksum checks in your server to make sure your players are using the same client.
