Mystery Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) Is there any discussion on making Toast of Doom's string package diff standard in all newer eAthena revisions? ---> http://www.eathena.w...howtopic=204976 Enabling these strings standard in the new revision well help reduce people's time adding them and will make it easier for everyone to customize new NPCs with these strings. And, if not, how come? o_o Mysterious Edited November 18, 2011 by Mysterious 3
Z3R0 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I kind of have to agree on this... or at least put this one in a "custom" type scenario... I don't know... but it definitely needs to be offered... string manipulation is sexy...
Truly Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Haha yeah this is a very nice add in my opinion. Never really occurred to me to change strings using some of those types of commands. Sadly i notice it was from almost three years ago and i wonder why it wasn't added o.O But yeah, that kind of opens some doors for scripting, +1 !
Brian Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) I support this too! Maybe ToastOfDoom can commit to the SVN. Edit: sent a PM to ToastOfDoom on the old forums Edited November 18, 2011 by Brian 2
Erid Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) I support this too, I think it should be a standard, this seems very basic and useful to be out of the main repository. Edited November 18, 2011 by Erid
Mercurial Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 i agree, every other language has this afterall we should too 1
Mystery Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 I haven't seen Toast of Doom around these new boards.. does Toast know about this new board? D:! On the other hand, I think she should become a Developer. Then again, it won't hurt to higher new Developers to lend a hand, correct? Especially since, Toast knows what to do.
Mystery Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 what?Toast is a she? Don't know.. not sure
ragnazorg Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I've seen ToastofDoom here and yes I agree with him/her being a developer! 1
KeyWorld Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I didn't know that ToastofDoom was active again, long time I don't see him or Annie on the board (miss you...). No offense, but be sure he know C before saying to put him Dev (It's not because you released 2-3 source snippets that you can be a Dev). Agree about String command package and happy if he joins the move
ragnazorg Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Sorry i forgot to add scripting developer (like Kisuka).

No offense, but be sure he know C before saying to put him Dev (It's not because you released 2-3 source snippets that you can be a Dev). Agree about String command package and happy if he joins the move Although he may of done 2-3 source snippets and knows a bit of C, he can still be Dev because since he does have knowledge of C and has actually done source codes, he is on the right track of actually knowing the coding. Putting him in the position will give him a better and bigger spectrum of opportunities to help advance his abilities in C. 1
Kenpachi Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Although he may of done 2-3 source snippets and knows a bit of C, he can still be Dev because since he does have knowledge of C and has actually done source codes, he is on the right track of actually knowing the coding. According to this I am qualified to be a "Core Developer", too....Sorry, but in my opinion being a developer is much more than creating some string manipulation commands. I don't know how skilled ToastOfDoom is, but he/she is not very active in the Source-section.
Sirius_White Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 If you don't trust developers switch to Git and use Pull Requests instead. If you want to make a change here it might be a good idea to actually get shit done instead of discussing for years.
Mercurial Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Lol ,that was the best suggestion since the sourceforge move

Github is really nice and its features are really good for developers.
Mystery Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 Even if Jguy decides not to hire Toast as a Dev, we should at least have his Snippets in all newer versions of eAthena. If something this useful was released, why not implement it in all never revisions of eAthena?
Sneaky Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I know it's been a while already but did you guys ever got a final decision on this? I would like to know.
Emistry Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) Wow...this is Great !!! So it will be added on Next Revision for RAthena ? just wonder if there is anyone having the Documentation on these script commands ? because i didnt found..>.< Edited December 8, 2011 by Emistry
