  1. Great tutorial Olrox! I learned a lot from volume 3 as you've explained everything quite clearly and concisely.
  2. Watch this BrowEdit tutorial covering the difference between applying a 1x1 borders to a map. It has quite an effect on shadows & shades ->
  3. Maps renamed are attached. (Only includes map files) Map Renames.7z
  4. Co-op? Lot's of industry leading employers hire co-op students on contract for durations of 4, 8, 12 or 16 months. When on the job, employers teach you skills & knowledge about the position and you get to apply your knowledge as well. University/College based co-ops are paid positions. For more information see this -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooperative_education
  5. The new map function in BrowEdit hasn't been properly completed in terms of bugs that arise. It's best to avoid it and just use a Gravity map as a template. Just take any Gravity map, clear it, and save it. Then you can begin designing your map. Unfortunately no. You can't change the dimensions of a map. You have to use what you got. 1. Open 2 maps with BrowEdit so you have 2 instances running. 2. In map 1, go to Editmode -> Global Height Edit 3. Highlight a section in the map and then click "c". 4. A copy menu will pop up. Just keep all the options checked and hit "Ok". 5. You should see an instance of the copied area pop up beside your cursor. Hit the "Tab" button to move to the 2nd map. 6. Left click to paste the copied area on to the map. Done.
  6. Try this version and see if your GATs are fixed. Stay away from the File -> New map function. Always use a Gravity map as a map template and work from that. What I did? 1. Took a Gravity map and cleared it 2. Copied your map to it 3. Applied GATs and lighting 4. Raised water level to -20. Maintown Edited.7z
  7. Thanks Thanna for letting us know I added a new file to the download file list -> cell_game.bmp (Minimap)
  8. Try the following and see if it works.. 1. Raise water level to -20 (See Windows -> Water) 2. Raise map above the -20 mark (See Global Height Edit Tool) 3. Edit -> Set GAT Height I've found in the past that walkable areas with map heights depending on the water level causes weird GAT glitches. Assuming you DIDN"T use the NEW MAP function, test this out and see if your walkable areas are now.. well .. walkable in game.
  9. Here this will replace pvp_y_1-2. Old Izlude PvP.7z
  10. I highly recommend a program that has co-op integrated. Co-op really gets your foot in the door when it comes to actual work experience & making connections. You'll learn a lot on the job, apply your theoretical knowledge, make money and hopefully have a job waiting for you upon graduating. Co-op is also a fantastic way to determine whether you enjoy what you're learning because chances are you'll be doing something similar when graduating and you gotta make sure this is a career path right for you. (Completed my 1 year integrated co-op and I absolutely loved it. Well worth it!)
  11. If any part of the copied map falls in the void (empty space) of the new map it's being paste on, you'll get an immediate crash EVERY time. To avoid this, you need to make sure that the new map your pasting the map on is large enough where nothing falls in this outside purple area. If you can't find a map large enough to sustain this, simply divide your map into separate quadrants and copy/paste one quadrant at a time. If you've tried this and still have issues, contact me via PM and I can try and fix the issue for you personally (transfer the map to me).
  12. Can you tell me what your sanity error is? If its tile-out of bounds, copying the map onto a new template is the way to go but it doesnt work all the time. I've had situations like this and eventually the copy-paste tool worked. If you get a sanity error that says "lightmaps out of bounds" you just have to use the clear map tool and ONLY select "lightmaps".
  13. What's your passion, your drive? What do you see yourself doing for the rest of your life? Based on whatever this is, follow it and stay on track with it. Money is one thing, but having to do the same thing for the rest of your life being miserable with your line of work just isn't worth it. Also, location is pretty important. Depending on where you live, it'll limit your choices of what universities you can attend (unless you don't mind being on residence).
  14. If the room the computer is stationed in is well ventilated, you shouldn't have a problem keeping it on (24/7). If you plan on saving on your electrical bill, turn it off when you go to bed. To keep the PC cool it depends on the design of the case, and choice of cooling on the CPU itself. Air cooling should be fine as this isn't a high budget build so you could stick with the stock fan the CPU comes with or invest in a $20-30 dollar fan (ensure its compatible with socket AM3). IMO, I would invest the money in a better fan for the CPU.
  15. I'm sure many of you have been waiting for an update on this project for quite sometime. BrowEdit 2.0 has taken a turn and will be undergoing major redevelopment changes. Instead of being designed in Java (initially) it's now taking a complete remodel in C++. This is due to some unexpected issues. So if anyone is interested in participating with Borf & his team and you're competent programming in C++, drop me a PM and I'll inform Borf.
  16. Find dinput.ini in your main RO directory. Find the following code below and change the Width and Height resolution. Save the file and run the RO executable file. WindowWidth =1280 WindowHeight =1024
  17. Hair comes from here: http://spriterepository.com/files/file/2533-costume-saiyan/ Thanks for the feedback guys =)

  20. Nice job. For shadows, try changing the intensity of your cast shadow light to 127, and sun to 192. See if that improves it =)
  21. Another map editor. Borf has competition now. Ohhh Snap! You mentioned that the client would be able to read other model files. Looks like additional plugins are needed in BrowEdit to spawn & place these different models onto the map (currently restricted to RSM).
  22. Yudax, I assume you're referring to this map (http://rathena.org/board/topic/68351-free-release-camland-prontera/) made by Kasumy. The reason it crashes is because you didnt have BrowEdit read the data folder pathway the map uses. In that data folder are model & texture changes. So make sure you convert the data folder into a GRF (add the GRF to BrowEdit) or add the data folder pathway (ro.xml)
  23. FYI, I think the guy is saying "someone could recolor a texture for me please and send me the file as. psd and. bmp?"
  24. Wow, great transformation between Normal & Ruins version. Choice of models & placements fits the theme quite nicely as well as textures, and the lighting you used is just right. Great job overall. =]
  25. Read these =) http://rathena.org/w...Basic_Scripting http://rathena.org/w...Adding_a_Script http://rathena.org/wiki/Scripting Under the script release & support section, take a look at the scripts presented there. Also look at the quest scripts provided under the npc folder in the rAthena Emulator Directory (CLICK HERE).
