As far as I'm aware, the ipbwiki link just ensure that the correct cookies are all defined so when the user is presented with the wiki main page, the user is already logged in with their correct credentials. If the wiki was only editable by staff that I wouldn't mind changing the link. I believe the link need to stay, but Brian may know a bit more about this than I do.

It checks the specific item id in inventory database, item equipped or not. The script is more accurate if the players are offline.

Some issues might be your custom theme is not compatible with the flux you are using. Can you provide some screenshots of your registration page when it is in default theme as well as it is in your custom theme for further assistance
