Maybe because you're using the wrong setup.exe. I am not sure but I noticed that some clients doesn't like the Blue Ghost Setup.exe and the old Setup.exe will work just fine. I have 3 setup.exes on my RO folder when I was testing clients and lua files. (The old one, blue ghost and Ai4Rei's Open setup.exe) For the lua error, did you diff your client with "Read lua before lub"? To get rid of that don't tick "Read lua before lub" when diffing your client. Annnnnnnd if it's in Korean, make sure you tick the "Translate Client in English" when you diff your client. And if it's still in Korean after that, you may need to put the English/Translated textures in your GRF (here!).

You cannot just use any lua files with your client. Make sure you have the lua files matching your client, choose the lua files before or the same date as your client. If you're using 20110315 then find the lua files on that date or before that. http://subversion.assembla.com/svn/ClientSide/Lua_Project/lubs/Lub%20Files%205.0.2/ Then try again. That fixed my sound effects and /effects not saving. I didn't edit my clientinfo.xml or change my diffs. Or add any files to my data folder. ._.

I have no idea about rA, they were added on an iRO maintaince. 06/28/2011 - Maintenance. Pretty old already.
