im having this error failed to retrieve 2008-11-26rdata? anyone familiar with this error?

It occurs when you run the patcher outside a kRO client folder. It will not download the entire kRO client data, but starts patching at zero which is 2008-11-26rdata for the sakray patcher. So you have to fetch a client if you do not already have one, as Emistry said.

sir it seems that this amazing patcher doesn't pass arg..like what kro patcher does...

sir if you mind to add this feature so that I can totally replace kro patcher to this one..cause I can't use this patcher when I rename it to Ragnarok_RE then start it using the OTP login of kro...

thanks,...

Hm, the kRO-variants of the patcher are supposed to forward the command-line, and if there is no command-line, to open the kRO website.

Edit: Confirmed, it does not work. Stupid me, the command-line forwarding is in the 3.x branch of the patcher ;;

kRO main (kro-rag) uses 'patch.txt' and kRO sakray (kro-renewal) uses 'patchRE.txt' right now. The only patch server known to me, that used 'patch3.txt' is kRO sakray (kro-sak) from before renewal, which is offline for about 2 years.

Don't bother reading if you are not into experimenting and cannot use the command line (cmd.exe/command.com) on Windows.

Ever wanted to see the wasted space in your GRF archive? Not just how much, but also where and how well distributed? There goes a new tool, rsu.map [52 K], which makes a graphical representation of given archive. Read the included text file for usage.

Apart from this, it also is a test-tool for the updated GRF Engine that will be used in RO Patcher Lite v3.0. Thus by using this tool you help me to hunt down any possible errors that might be present. If the output looks funny or the tool fails to process your GRF archive, please report it here.

how to patch the 2008-11-26rdata or how to skip old patches? im using latest kro client.

i cant patch my rsu-lite-renewal patcher. but my kro patcher lite patched smoothly.

"rdata at 2008-11-26" and "latest kro client" somehow does not go together. If did not download the client from official website, the download author might not have intended for rdata.grf to be used. Your options:

  • Do not use rdata.grf
  • Download recent rdata.grf with respective patchRE.inf (recommended)
  • Update patchRE.inf to a patch ID that works, such as 2034 (not recommended, you will miss out on a lot of files)

My question is that how does the manual patch thing work?

I tried to copy my downloaded .gpfs and .rgzs into the main ro folder, but the patcher didn't care.

My problem is that there were some missed patches and there are some unknown items due to this. The patcher updated everything to the latest, but these missing ones are old patches, and I have to add them manually. Is there a way?

Thanks!

Hold SHIFT key while clicking 'Close' button. That makes the patcher keep successfully downloaded patches. There will also be a resume-download feature in next version for patch servers that support it, that is, the patcher will reconnect to the server resume downloading the patch at the position, where it was interrupted.

Antares:

Manual patch works only for pending patches, not for missed patches. If you want to apply missed patches, you have to roll-back the patch ID in patch.inf (data.grf) or patchRE.inf (rdata.grf). You can also download rsu.merge and merge the patches with the GRF of your choice.
