Azura Skyy Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I contacted borf today. He is really busy at the moment with really high priority stuff on his life (which I'm glad) I don't believe he will have time to this soon. In any case, we have used browedit for years, I don't mind if we would have to wait 1 or even 3 years more for a new browedit 2.0 Edit: I'll gonna ask him every time or so if he has some time around again, but really don't expect news in less than several months. Thanks for the update. I just got into making my own server and using BrowEdit, so I can't begin to complain. I'm actually impressed with the program as is. The improvements planned sound exciting and worth waiting for. Tell Borf I/we wish him the best with his current on goings and look forward to his return. ~Azura Skyy Quote
Moriarty Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) As a free software, why not open source? :| This way Borf wouldn't have to do all of it by himself Edited November 1, 2013 by PcPocket Quote

Borf himself is busy though. Have you read the full thread? (Please do not read this as me attacking you.) ~Azura Skyy Quote
Venture Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Why not open this up on GitHub? Gravity licensing issues? They allowed private server to run based on their assets. with a different emulator. This also uses gravity assets to run, with a different emulator. I think this should be fine and million times faster. Quote
Olrox Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 @PCPocket I actually want the tool as everyone does. However, do you really think that if the source is released, there will be development assured around it? well I doubt that. Although, if there is someone with the enough knoweledge for that and wants to give a try, well, there is the contact listed since months before. Edit: Since Syouji is innactive, anyone can contact me, and I'll let Borf know about (as long as he is free of course) Quote
Olrox Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 @Everyone Just to keep you informed, Borf has been having a little fun the past days with browedit 2.0 implementing some stuff to it (like shadows, camera ...) Perhaps we can expect some compiled versions of this progress soon. 4 Quote

KeyWorld Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 So he is still alone on his project ? Too bad... I think there will be more people involved if he was writing it in C# (or C/C++), but yeah we all do our own choice (myself included ). Hope the best for your motivation, keep it up ! Quote

Looks like you're trying to use the older Java based client... http://browedit.borf.info/2.0/ You can download other versions there. Quote
Olrox Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 @Truly I dont know. Borf probably will add more support to his 3ds to rsm format with other 3d libraries. Animation is gonna be supported btw. @everyone Java version of browedit is no longer developed (look closely that log, all is from 2012~2013 year), the new version that has been worked out these days is under C++ which at the moment (unless someones interested and with skills shows up) is private and I believe only Borf and me has access. Dunno if Borf is okay by the idea of releasing compiled versions. Maybe once there is enough work done (for example at this moment, rev 199 has already texture edit mode) you can always looks the logs about the development: http://svnlog.borf.info/browedit.log Since this topic is not mine, I can't update the thread. Maybe I'll do a new one or contact the staff to change the author so I can edit it. 1 Quote

Skorm Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Right but I actually recommend you download the old Broweditor because it actually has all the editing options. Quote
Venture Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Oh my god, development is being continued >.< I am so happy for this.! Quote
