ngek202 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 have you add all 3 files .gat .rsw. .gnd? and added it mapnametable.txt? Quote
keoco Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 yuup, all those files were in the same folder, and i added the .rsw to mapnametable.txt Quote
Nipsino Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 You should make sure it's reading data folder first. Also try re-doing your map-cache. Quote
keoco Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 i followed this guide... not sure if its outdated though http://rathena.org/wiki/Custom_Maps, so no i didnt use weecache i dont think Quote
Syouji Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 (edited) Did you make sure that you edtied 'grf-files.txt' to read the correct location for your data folder? Make sure you also didn't right-click and clicked 'rename' on any of the map files to rename them. That will just corrupt it. Edited January 27, 2012 by Syouji Quote

Syouji Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Sounds good. You can just use browedit to open the original clean map and resave it with a new name. Quote
keoco Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) well... i re-put the files in... and redid everything and renaming it to the original file name... but the error still popped... Im not sure... but i named mine "Maintown01" with capital "M" not "m"... so would the problem be that rathena doesnt allow caps? or is it something else.. also this is my grf_files.txt //----------------------------------------- // GRF List //----------------------------------------- //grf: C:Rodata.grf // You may add more in this format // grf: <data file path> //------ Others --------------------------- // Data Directory (without the actual data though) // the below example would use C:pathtoROdata data_dir: C:cmaps so no one knows? Aerie Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 If you're using the grf way, it reads the first grf linked. But as Syouji said you have to rename files. You should take the original files open them with BE and save to another name (or they won't be get the same name for the program). Caps isn't recommanded also ... You should restart your manipulation with the original one not your renamed one. Quote
keoco Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 hmm, im using the data way atm, is my grf_files.txt correct? and ill see what i can do with BE and update you Quote
Aerie Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I don't think the problem comes from the server, the server only reads *.gat not *.rsw. rsw and gnd are only reads by the client, so problem may comes from the renam. Quote
keoco Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) hmm.. well, it doesnt say missing .rsw anymore, its just an error like the screenie maybe cause i diffed the client to ignore errors... will update you more about it like this update 1: okay, so i opened up the original map on BE and renamed it once again, and edited all the .confs etc and ran mapcache.exe, when i run the server, it didnt have an increase number in maps in the mapserv... why isnt it working ==" update 2: i check mapcache.exe and it says the new renamed map i put in is already in cache Edited January 29, 2012 by keoco Quote
ngek202 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) @keoco try using WeeMapCache it's really easy. things you need to modify: Server Side: maps_athena.conf db/map_index.txt Client Side: mapnametable.txt mp3nametable.txt // if you need to have a background music for the map viewpointtable.txt // if you need to control the map viewpoints. oh yeah just like they say don't rename the map coz like for example it has some other texture or model files it will look for the original name of the map and end up getting corrupted. instead if you want to clone the map use resnametable.txt Edited January 29, 2012 by ngek202 Quote

Quote
ngek202 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 just run the WeeMapCache then Open > search for map_cache.dat on you server files located at db/map_cache.dat then just drag the map.gat onto the window of WeeMapCache then Save. that's it. add me on ym if having a problem still.. Quote
keoco Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 ngek helped me solve this, credit to him! thanks! didnt have the files inside the server data folder Quote
