The clan members wins a bonus for being in the clan, is a special type of buff, the leaders of the clans can choose between several types of clans and each type has its bonuses.

In fact this system was launched and long.

It necessarily doesn't "replace". Basically, if you are in a clan, you can't be in a guild. Think of it like a micromanaging version of a guild.
