What remix is asking is...How do they make it so the actual .exe for the client isnt clickable; The server would only be playable by using the patcher. I have also seen this happen before.
1st: How do I make it so an NPC is activated every other day and activated 3 times for each day its activated?
2nd: How do I make it so all buffs are taken off on a map?(Player is warped to the map and debuffed)
3rd: How do I make it so no matter what a players stats or cards are, they can still be effected to status effects on a map caused by a script?
Please and thank you :3 If you would like to know exactly what I need this all for, its for my fishing script~
Nooo He wants a permanent effect like the lvl99 aura. One that will not disappear when changing maps.
Which is not possible because the client refreshes every character upon entrance to a map. so even if you used it as 'while equipped, the effect would not appear to new people entering the map.
Mmm...All good responses...
And I do agree with Mysterious; Now-a-days, most new server admins are rude and suck at keeping balance. Not only that, but they rely too much on making money or other people to run the server for them.
Example: Midgard Chronicle's GM team.... I was there for a few days and had a problem with a player and had the GM look into it... I asked everyday for 5 days straight if they could tell me something about what was happening about it...All the GM team would tell me was "We're sorry, but we cannot tell you any information about it except that we're still looking into it and waiting for a response from the admin." Nothing ever happened to the player. Come to find out he was good friends with the whole GM team and the admin.
I've noticed that alot of people have decided to make their own RO servers and have no clue how to do it...and i'm okay with that...but some of the people who try have no knowledge what-so-ever about how to even get the files for it even though I'm sure on the wiki there is a complete guide on how to set it up. So could anyone else give their opinion on this matter? I just dont understand why everyone is doing it now~ Late Feb./Early March
I used this method.
I began scripting by taking an already made quest npc and just editing the item ids and removing what I didnt need...then I started practicing by putting an empty notepad next to an already made script and start copying it that way to get the feel of how to do it by scratch...Once I was comfortable with it, I started learning what commands were in the already made NPCs and using them to make basic scripts like a poring item gathering npc. Then I began making more npc like basic talking npcs, quest npcs, and others... After that I wanted to try more harder npcs and make strings out of them...
It took me about 3 months to learn by myself without using the basic scripting guide or any help from the wiki or other members to beable to script from scratch...

If you dont want 3rd jobs to beable to use an item, keep the uh..'upper' mask as "7" like older items
0xFFFFFFFF,7,2, <<<< Keep the items code like that
0xFFFFFFFF,8,2, <<<< For 3rd Jobs only
