Actually we have kinda a problem with multi mesh support in gr2 files Screenshots: -- First an Original Ragnarok gr2 monster which has multi mesh support (link to this .gr2 model here -- https://dl.dropbox.com/u/52175822/aguardian90_8.gr2) -- Now our testing with a custom gr2. Which has multi mesh support. -- Our issue is that in game we can only see the first mesh listed We can't figure it out why... we only know that Ragnarok default gr2 models has multi mesh support. Perhaps this is a feature or something that has to do with the conversion routine?

  4. Thank you a lot. For now I'm just importing the gr2 models with the granny plugin , using the texture maps at bink 0 with alpha present in 3DS Max. Some of my tests are good, some are weird (all of these inside our game, don't worry about, all the conversions I did with your converter... are all good). I bet [D]oss is better than me at the time of importing the granny models from 3ds max, due to the fact that he has more experience with granny than me. In consequence that is why his tests shows better results in game. So I asked to him for some info about, but seems he has some exams now. He will reply back here in a day or two. Sorry to keep you waiting. Edit: @Ricky92 Do we have a posibility to enable multi mesh support with the granny converter?

    First do a backup of all your map files. Then open the .rsw file with "notepad ++" and look for the model name... then, do a query and replace all the entries as Try to keep the same amount of letters. That means, if your model name had 5 letters, the new model needs to have also 5 letters. Otherwise your map will crash. Save the file in notepad ++ and all your models will be replaced with just one click... Aditional notes: Just be careful that the new model has the same size and default rotation as the model you are replacing. Now, that I added a video about RSM edition, you can do this.
  6. @kasumi Explain better~ I didn't understand. In my opinion, don't take too much time for this Vol.2 tutorial, unless you know -exactly for what- you will need it. For example, I found this useful at almost several months after I learnt it. Perhaps you will find more useful some tutorials about Modeling from scratch or modeling edition. Tutorials that I have in my -to do- list. @java Good luck!
  7. Yo pienso igual que DevilEvil, El proyecto esta bien y todo pero llevarlo afuera del dominio rathena, (foro aparte) es, volverlo frágil. Por años he visto tantos proyectos de traducciones que se manejaron de la misma forma... y de lo unico que queda hoy es puro error 404, perdiendose el progreso, documentación, etc. Si el proyecto se manejara dentro del dominio en rathena, se tendria un respaldo mas fiable. Pero bueno ustedes decidan.
  8. You are right. One day a customer told me to add some -moscovia flowers- into her map, but, the flowers were textures placed in ground edition. ... So with this tool you can cut those terrain areas, and make custom models of those flowers! I know, perhaps, it is a bit weird, and there are other simplest ways to make it, but there you have an example. Also what you said it is true. You can take a bunch of ragnarok flowers or models, and merge it into just 1. So you can save time instead of using -Group Model Edition- in browedit, which it is useful, but it is hard to handle the models in group mode, for example, flip them.
  9. @kasumi In my experience I have found this useful for: Taking a ground edition in a Ragnarok map and make a slooping terrain curves between two corners with a same alltitude present. That is not possible in browedit. Then export it as a custom model. Take whole ground areas and transform them into custom models... One day I was commisioned to make an edition of an specific area in a clock tower map, in 3D. To save some time and instead of editing each model one by one, and placing the custom models one by one... I just imported the whole area. It is quite hard to know what you can do with this beside of what I have mentioned. I guess it is up to you---. I'm only explaining how to do it, people have to think out of the box to take an advantage of the possibilities of these resources. If you invest time with 3DS Max, you will find very useful ways to do 3D, so, now you can apply that knowledge to map areas in ragnarok. Perhaps, some edits you have ever wondered you can't do in browedit, now you can do in 3DS Max... with the limitation of course that they will be imported as objects, and not as ground. @Snow How evil.... :3 so those are your plans!. I demand more cookies now! Edit: I have to say... that FBX convertion takes us one step forward to custom rsm animation, since "Xarple" (the main autor of this tool) was able to import the rsm animation structures into FBX with this tool he shared to us.

  15. This is ... awesome! We were encountering with some crashes with the previous converter as you stated. Now, it works as a charm =P Example of Ragnarok 2 monster exported with Granny 2.6.0.10, now transformed into 2.1.0.5, a mandragora:
  16. I have been looking for "RSM to 3DS" software out there, and there isn't anything out for at least Ragnarok Online. For now, you have only the method I explained. Which is probably a bit -rustic- but very easy to do and uses a very common software that you can get by [payment] or perhaps by [Googling it]. So try to search for it and get it, it is not that hard.

  19. hehe I doubt that -any- RO client can run easily like that. In my times, harmony based clients were not that compatible. I can't say the same for the actual ones.

I don't have the words to be enough thankfull. This is, the first time of several years that we have a possibiliy with gr2.   22. ? I don't understand what you mean. Please try to keep on the thread. As I said, he is not from this RO community. He probably doesn't have the -time- (and I have to say... interest) contrary as all contributors here does. Back on the thread, I looked at him at elitepvpers community (http://www.elitepvpers.com) and seems he has been active. So, I really hope he will read my message and probably he will show up Afterall, that is how it was the past time he was gone due to real life issues, I believe.
  23. Since this is not a custom headgear, I think, your issue goes with a bad camera aligment. It is not a good idea to enable "allow camera max" as the client you are using. Looking at the prontera texture, seems that you have the camera almost a t the top of the head of the character, which causes graphical issues as that.

Allows to take any area of any RO map you wish and edit it in 3D ... Possibilities? it is up to you to find them =P there are quite a lot with this.
