Should we keep checking over kRO mechanics?. Or are we gonna just follow iRO just looking at irowiki, because i found several things which works way different over kRO when it's compared to iRO.

The amount of bug fixes from kRO is hard to keep it updated since they're changing mostly the skills and also def, mdef, every single week. Gravity also nerfed Matk formula a few months ago over kRO.

- Shield penalty works in a different way than iRO (kRO is based in a % not fixed amount).

- ASPD formula works different than iRO (kRO ASPD increases exponencially depending on AGI/DEX/Level).

- Weapon penalty works in a different way than iRO (kRO is based in a %, not fixed amount).

- The 98% of almost every single 3rd job skill has been tweaked compared to iRO.

- They have moved a few mobs from fields to another places.

- Spear Quicken, Two Handed Quicken has been changed the amount of aspd (Now is based in a % not a fixed amount).

- Missing in iRO a few Towns from kRO mostly due iRO still way outdated (1 and half years outdated).

- A bunch of old npcs from Town has been changed their location.

- Changed the drop rate adjustment based on current level.

- Changed the exp rate adjustment based on current level (I still testing this).

- They have added lots of new NPC's.

- Gravity changed the MDEF and also DEF formula.

- kRO has a new system named Shop Lookup System which allows to buy items from Vending of other players (more info below)

http://forums.irowik...669&postcount=1

And the list goes on...

If we're going to follow iRO mechanics, then we haven't need to support Ragexe_RE.exe packets sice we can use iRO clients.

If we're going to use iRO it would be hard to test the mechanics, cause iRO doesn't have any skill or stat reset npc and leveling at 1.5x is kinda hard compared to kRO sakray but at least we have the wiki.

iRO does not document all their changes or release them to the public; I believe that we should combine the latest features from both iRO and kRO, whichever has more up-to-date complete info (such as the two different links I posted: iRO skill changes (from kRO coming to iRO) and kRO Homunculus S changes).

I think in the same way, a mix between iRO mechanics and kRO would benefit the most this project. Getting mainly information from iRO and the rest of the unknown data would be gathered from kRO.

Since from the past 1 and half years i'm doing test over kRO and at the same time over iRO just comparing how does work each skill that i'm allowed to use and every mechanic before to make an update to a few stuff at the SVN.

IMO this is a community question, not only developer.

People will keep asking "wtf why doing this f*ckin dmg? Never seen this on retail server", because they are playing on iRO or any other iRO based server.

On a developer pov, iRO is the better choice because of her wiki, changelog, level rate, ect.

- kRO has a new system named Shop Lookup System which allows to buy items from Vending of other players (more info below)

Could be done via simple NPC scripts and a new script command to open the shop window of a specific player.

But dont sounds that hard

kRO.... because it is the official project ragnarok.....if you choose the iRO .... you could also put jRO that changes everything.... iRO is a custom server... for example delete drop penalty..... etc etc...

Jguy have some good points, I like the idea of having a nearest goal than kRO, it would help a lot to first reach iRO and then move on to kRO. Using kRO as a goal seems too far away and the lack of information doesn't help.

I just hope we don't forget that our final goal is kRO.

+1 at Jguy. While I may not be developing myself, I do have a 101 Arch Bishop on iRO Valkyrie I can lend for data collection. Holla.

I think it's actually quite simple.

Every time it's possible, we should follow kRO, in other case follow iRO. To be precise, if we have exact and complete info how something works in kRO, just do it this way. If we don't have enough info, it's better to have iRO version of a feature implemented (hopefully temporarily until kRO data is gathered) than nothing at all.

I agree with Gepard, this is how I always did.

If don't there is some official information from kRO, just wait new updates in iRO. The only significant difference of kRO for iRO is the formula of ASPD and there are small differences as the formula for MATK, with a difference of 2 points, but this is not relevant.

About skill updates, no need to be constantly updated. It is preferable to wait and get the informations in iRO, because kRO have constant changes and this would be a work for nothing.

I also like the idea of following iRO mechanics. As Jguy pointed out, we a have huge gap to fill in. I think

it is best to try and cope up until rAthena is able to produce 100% renewal emulator though features/mechanics

may differ than other official servers. And then whatever kRO data are retrieved, if already present in rA's repository

from iRO, then modify them. With this you'll be able to do bug fixes faster while slowly applying kRO mechanics,

without getting outdated.

If you read rAthena's revision changes, it shows that most mechanics/updates mention

iRO Wiki. Only means when the development started, most of the updates/patches

were based from iRO's renewal mechanics.

Hope we get to the same level as eAthena and higher by following iRO. They're pretty advanced already since eAthena has been going on for quite a while.

Our code is directly from eAthena and thanks to our active Developers...it's probably safe to say we are WAY ahead of eAthena now. We are about 200 revisions ahead of them.

I prefer kRO, because they develop all the original, new concepts and releases.

iRO recently Added ep 14.1 and the 3rd class skill balance patch which might be a good base to start with.

I prefer iRO, because even pRO is following iRO too. The custom made by iRO is balanced. I hope rAthena will follow the 2011 3rd class skills re-balanced.

IRO, the emu is so far behind its ridicules to even wait on leaks. Waiting on leaks is one of the reason eathena started to fall behind. We should get caught up to iro and then use KRO for whatever new concept or additions that are made.

+ 1 to gepard and protimus, I agree that you should follow kro whenever possible and convient but use iRo when ever you can't get info from Kro or the content changes too often. You get your fancy steak whenever you can and you eat your cheap flank whenever you can't get fancy steak.
