HELP: I can't make my client work

I've followed every step on installing rAthena. My server is running but I can't make a client to connect to it. I kept searching the forums and some search engines but I still can't figure out a way to make one.

 

1. I want to use an official server's data.grf for several reasons. Less downloading by my friends since they are already playing or have played in this official server already and probably less errors since we're all using the same files.

 

I created my ownserver.grf and put into it only the clientinfo.xml

 

I used my IP on what I got from w**t*smyip.o*g.

 

I created data.ini and placed it on with the same folder as my Ragnarok Client.

 

Placed;

 

0=ownserver.grf

1=sdata.grf

2=data.grf

 

2. Downloaded some of the new diffs but couldn't make it to work. All errors upon launching. Also upon diffing, I couldn't find [Enable multiple GRFs] and [Read Data Folder First] options.

 

I downloaded this versions;

2013-08-14Ragexe.exe

2013-08-28cRagexe.exe

 

3. I tried the Loki Launcher but still no progress.

Can you copy what's inside your clientinfo.xml? Is the clientinfo.xml inside the ownserver.grf? As said by iraciz, why isn't the rdata.grf included.. although that'll be unnecessary for your problem in client-server connection since ownserver.grf is read first before the other grf files.

 

Make sure that the right IP provided by the host server is correct as well as the the login port number. I think you are using your own computer as a server (since you used whatismyip.org right?), are your port forwarding configuration correct? You have to check lots of things carefully if they are setup correctly.

There is no rdata.grf in the Official Server's Ragnarok Folder. So, I took it that it would be okay only to add those two. 

 

Inside the clientinfo. I tried on both on what I got from whatismyip.org and 127.0.0.1 for testing purposes. But both failed. I'm just testing it first before I launch it

 

Everytime I try to open my client it pops up a blank error.

Maybe the problem is what you include in you diff file

I don't really know. I couldn't find the [Read Data Folder] and [Enable Multiple GRFs] on all the Ragexes I downloaded. Is it normally included on the versions I downloaded?

DIFF the client yourself; that's the better way to do it instead of downloading pre-patched clients.

Yeah. I think that's what I did. I used the ShinsDiffPatcher and downloaded undiffed Ragexes.

Except the part with the "data folder" because I wanted to use the Official Server's datas. (As I said before, so that my friends wouldn't have to download a kRO client and to avoid complications with their current official server RO.)

2013 Version is work already? i think you need to use 3party application to run that exe. they called LOADER
