Warlock summon balls

The last time I saw the effect for the warlock's summon fire/water/lightning balls, they looked smoother and nicer.

Are they suppose to look like this now o.O?

I don't think it has to do with the client, more probably with your kro. Try to update it .

I think the spirit balls are kinda the same style as the champion. In that case it should be only a texture.

In case you can't solve your issue by updating, I can look for the textures files and leave the names here, so anyone can look at what they have in their data.grf

I updated my kro and nothing changed.

And champion spirit ball effect is fine.

I believe, that I had that skill just as how you have it with a very old client... so maybe that is the reason.

The client ask for these files by casting those skills:

ring_yellow.tga

magic_green.tga

thuncercenter.bmp

pok1.tga

pok3.tga

I'm not sure about the lastest 2. In any case, your balls are in my opinion just bitmaps , very different than the tga files I listed.

All I can wonder is that, it must has to do with updates. Probably your client?

It is really weird. I have 2 Ragnarok folders (Full clients) one for my own server and one for RMS test server. and in both kro is fully patched.

I tested the skill in the RMS test server and their's look fine. Like how it supposed to be. RMS uses this client >>>> RMS-2012-06-20 <<<<

Mine's 2012-04-10aRagexeRE. an itsy bit older than the RMS client. I guess I will try to find another client to test this out and see if the client is the cause.

Meanwhile, If anyone else that uses the 2012-04-10aRagexeRE client have this problem, please post in this topic. Thank you.

Yeah I'm using 2012-04-10a and I've used other clients and the balls just looked like complete crap in all the clients. But i've played other servers and they looked good.

Have you tried any clients higher or lower than 2012-04-10a?

Have you tried by using the GRF files in your RMS directory into your official RO?

They don't use a GRF they use a data folder....in the data folder there is no texture folder. So I highly doubt it will change anything.

I thought I was the only one who went "WTF where they thinking" when I saw the new ugly balls. Not sure what changed but I'd like to see the cause/fix for this. xD

I guess not. Maybe it's a graphic card issue...who knows.

I think this is client related....

I took my clientinfo.xml and replaced with RMS's clientinfo.xml and connected to my server using their client. And I summoned the balls and they looked normal.

Apparently we can edit them to our liking like he did....I'm gonna look more into that...I don't like the snot ball.
