Warlock summon balls

The last time I saw the effect for the warlock's summon fire/water/lightning balls, they looked smoother and nicer.

Are they suppose to look like this now o.O?

Before I listed the files the client recalls for the summoning spirits that we normally have. My client is not showing the other style so I can't tell you guys what files corresponds to those spirit balls.

You can try, just as how I do:

- Hex a client disabling the: "Ignore missing files"

- Remove data/texture/effect from your grf and repack

Now recall the effect and you will be able to see what bmp files are those.

Edit: Or perhaps one of you two can upload his data.grf so I can do it for you.

I dunno if anyone else figured it out, but the ugly balls are in data/texture/effect:

I'm not sure if the BMPs were used for anything else, but I didn't like any of it at all, so I just replaced them with balls I made myself..

I figured out that the ones that have "-1" prefixes are the ones that are used for the warlock's spirit balls. I dunno if it's client-specific or anything...

I tried editing it into pure transparent bmp, but that didn't make it default into something like the balls clydelion posted (http://rathena.org/board/topic/76860-warlock-summon-balls/?p=169771)..

@xtiand Thanks for adding the files names.

 

As for your testing, you have to know that you can't add transparency levels to a bmp file (edit: or you mean magenta transparency?). In RO that is only possible with the TGA texture files I listed before.

 

In any case,anyone can do his own spirit balls now with the files listed, however, they will not have transparency as the ones some other guys have. I think the question here is: Why the client asks for different texture files even by common Kro clients?

may be you can fix this by hexing the client. I am going to try this and let you all know. Right now the skill is reading bmp, we have to make it read tga.

if i am not mistaken the skill uses a .str file for getting the info for displaying the spheres (so many people saying balls lol) just like all the other skill effects.

is there any tool for editing str files? Then maybe we could make the respective str file use tga files instead of those ugly bmps.
