Anyways, I have develop a cool and social network based Ragnarok Control that has the following features. 1. Has facebook like wall. 2. AJAX based page browsing (like github). 2. Search Item 3. Manage Account. 4. Delete Character. 5. Ladder Based 6. Ticket Support 7. Notifications if someone send you message. and will add more feature.... ITS NOT DONE YET. Bahmut Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 I really like it. I think after you have a stable version I will look into it and maybe switch from FluxCP. Is this CP able to read a ragnarok client structure for the item database, character preview (seems like you want to show the character with items later) and such things? Because the converting of all the custom ragnarok client files to use them in FluxCP is kind of annoying. So it would be nice if I can just upload my Unpacked (or packed) custom grf to the webspace and it's reading everything by itself. Just a suggestion.

If you dont know how to work with php, and forgot to secure anyting, many people can hack it. Its better if you use somethings from a person who know more then you, youself can change it then~ My opinion~

However, for people who like those features the idea is good and the implementation looks nicely done as well. As it has been stated already, a design overhaul would be a wise idea! Every website is prone to being hacked. Well since you are not just a noobie admin that can script, you might want to show us some of your 'Professional Website' or whatever you call it. @jingcleovil, thumbs up for the control panel and not end up like the other cp that stopped from being developed. At least this guy has a working sample instead of pure texts in a thread with plans but not actually being developed. Haters gonna hate man
Eradicate Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 (edited) I think I've seen a CP like this with the facebook approach before on eAthena... The following may seem like a "hate" post but I am just stating my opinion on the flaws of a "social networking" CP : I agree with Realusion, if you plan on integrating a whole forum software (with its features) onto the CP, then sure, the news feed and messages would be awesome. Otherwise, the news feed would just be bothersome and adds something more to do for the staff team (in terms of potential spam, constant moderating, and maintenance). Additionally, this layout would make it hard to theme. Having the all/most of the RO servers have the same look/layout would be boring. For server owners, it would be hard to attract attention since the site couldn't stand out from the others. Not sure why a lot of people don't like Flux as it has a good base and functionality plus it has that theme feature. If you don't like the way something looks (like the item database), it is easy to change it.. its not like the implementation code isn't there. Anyways... I love the AJAX functionality and the online trade tab feature would be nice to have. If it is free and open source, then for sure, continue with it! There is no harm to having more CPs around.
