Hayate Yoshida Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 If this is still active, I may be very active soon with RO1! Quote
anzulo Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Hey, are u going to take this open source any time soon? And are u looking for help? Quote
lifeiscontent Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Shinryo, any updates here? Nope. Still ongoing. Made some heavy cleanups and will release some binary prototypes soon. Quote
Yommy Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 It seems like the usual occurance with major projects like this. Awesome build up of excitement. If you really are losing interest, then shove it onto github. if you are not losing interest, shove it on github anyway. either way, there is some people who would help. it seems many people are capable to creating a map viewer, but it never proceeds further than this stage Yommy ... i was very excited for this project, and really hope something more comes out of it 1 Quote

Fuffzehn Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Is there any way to support you or get additional information about this project? When you release an official documentation about the Interfaces and Hooks you are gonna be using, people could start making hooks for it soon. I took a quick look at openathena and it looks like they are trying to copy the original client, which imo is a bad decision. The vanilla client has pretty much the worst GUI I have ever seen in my life. It seriously needs an overhaul and I guess that should be easy with your client. Keep up the good work! Quote

Community projects progress faster than stand alone stuff. Put it on Github or some repository you like and let people in if you are having less time to spend on it - after all your real life matters more. Two (or more) heads are better than one. Quote
Fuffzehn Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Btw: Didn't you want to make this opensource as of september last year? Quote
Venture Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Been 4 months since the last post..So.. how is this going? Quote

CrescentSaga Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Not sure if it's gonna be able to be used with the official ragnarok...But once again, this seems to be halted for now, Shinro haven't update this thread for a while... Quote
Cherryblue Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Put it on github so that people may help you Guys you really need to go back to first page and read again the developer's opinions about that. His main goal is to learn and develop, if it goes open source then it will be released faster that's a given, but he won't learn all he wanted! Give him a break.. Quote

Not when such progress is threatened to be lost. All I pray for everyday has been for Shinryo to still continue developing this. Its our only hope for a Custom RO client! Quote
Tepoo Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 i dont think that we will ever see some of the clients are full functional and usable. everyone is cooking his own soup instead working together on one big project. i realy hoped for a solution for the future where we can more easily implement new features or secure the client better against exploits. but the only project who is still in lightly active development is robrowser. and this one doesnt seems to be safe for protected files. :-( Sad but true... KeyWorld Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 but the only project who is still in lightly active development is robrowser. and this one doesnt seems to be safe for protected files. :-( Sad but true... Don't worry there will have plugins to protect files, but don't expect it to be in the main repo. An open source encryption algorithm and its key is the same as no encryption at all. About this project, it's too bad, hope to see it open one day Quote
Tepoo Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 it was not negative meant to be about the robrowser o.o i love it. i was just curiour how you want to protect the files from beeing ripped while getting loaded over javascript for the browsers. Quote
KeyWorld Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 I know it's not negative Just as an example : some files can be decoded in the fly while decoding it partially, it's mean the decoded file will never be written to memory, just the result in GPU (mesh, texture). Coupled with a obfuscate decoder it would be really difficult to decode. Quote
Neo-Mind Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 hmm i am wondering two things. 1) whether shin is still working on this one. 2) why it is in the client releases section since it has no releases yet Quote
Draculle Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 In the end it proved to be a great hard head that did the same as many, he started something incredible, lost interest and put an end to all... If at least he had shared the code he would have been remembered as a better guy :/ Quote
