    If the exe works for you and others then the problem is not the exe itself but rather how people run it. 2011-11-16 uses the ghost setup wich can be the cause of the problem. Or the windows settings. Either way tell them to try it with compatibility mode windows xp and run as admin.

    Some parts definitely are a bit easier on linux. eg. make But most people use windows and feel overwhelmed by simply looking at a command line. And the Issue here isn´t even the mysql server but rather the normal server to server connection. I would have guessed that the problem lies within the configured username/pass but the "slow" connection as he stated points into a different direction. Btw a screenshot of the error would actually help a bit.

    Like I already said. 1. Make your data folder into a grf file. 2. List the grf in the data.ini. 3. Give the grf + exe + data.ini to your brother 4. Profit!? And ofc he can´t connect with the 2011 client. Because that client normally can´t read the data folder. And if the client can´t read the data folder, it won´t be able to read the clientinfo aswell. Thus he won´t even reach your server. My real concern currently is how you can connect to your server if you don´t have a grf and use that client...

    You are saying that he should try a vps when he can´t even do it on his pc? Thats not very smart imho. And what headache / hassle is there? editing a few lines to 127.0.0.1?

    Now thats pretty weird because 2011-09-06 normally wont work with read data folder first. You would have to make your data folder into a grf and edit the data.ini. Give that to your brother and it should work fine. The really wierd part is that you can play with that setup and your brother can´t. Well just get grf builder from here: http://ratemyserver.net/index.php?page=download_tool and make your data folder into a grf.

    Of the problem is the 2011-09-06 ragexe! NOT!!! The exe works as I myself am using it. Are you sure that you read my whole post in this topic? http://rathena.org/b...nt/#entry119905 I somehow doubt it. Because you couldn´t even find the exe that adseej posted in this topic. - packet_db.txt: Insert the right packets and set "packet_db_ver:" to your version. - mmo.h: Insert your client date correctly - recompile - dif the exe with packetheader obfuscation And please don´t crosspost and stay in one topic.

    1. What client are you using? Maybe you should try lubs instead of lua depending on your client. 2. The packet version error is a really easy one. And don´t forget to dif with packet obfuscation.     Aw I thought the msgstringtable.txt would fix this with the newest lub files. Normally the chat window lables are translated or renamed via msgstringtable and the other problems too. The only exception is that little window at the top I think. Can´t really help more as I do not have a 2012 client myself.

    If you follow this guide and read it carefully: http://rathena.org/wiki/Installation_on_Windows you will find your answer. You need a WAN IP in the configs Your WAN IP in your clientinfo You need to send your data folder / data.ini & grf + exe to your friends. If you don´t know where to change your wan ip: You haven´t read the guide If you don´t know what a wan ip is: You haven´t read the guide If you don´t know what to change in the clientinfo: You haven´t read the guide wich is linked at the bottom of the guide I posted. Everything you need is on the wiki.
