  1. Sorry to those of you who registered in the past 6 hours (from the time right after I upgraded IPB up until now). I forgot to apply an edit to make IPB compatible with SourceForge's email service. I have fixed it and re-sent the validation emails.
  2. planning to upgrade IPB soon

      IPB upgrade is done!

Their response: If you have a SourceForge account and would like to vote, please vote/comment on these two - Idea #218: SourceForge Web Hosting restrictions limit functionality - Idea #880: Allow outbound connections to certain sites.
  8. When I was testing to see if SourceForge's project web hosting could support IPB, I installed both 3.1 (this forum) and 3.2.2 (here). Both work on SF's hosting, but I came to the same conclusions you did and I prefer 3.1 too.
  9. hi Epoque! which would you prefer as your primary group? Core Developers or Wiki Leaders

  10. Congratulations! /grat oops looks like the forum is missing that emoticon
  11. We have chosen to move the SVN to SourceForge. Here's how to use svn switch --relocate to update your working copy: Step 1 Make sure your working copy is BEFORE revision 15000 (this is when we forked our SVN). If your working copy is past r15000, you can update back to r15000 like this: - Linux: svn up -r 15000 <path_to_working_copy> - Windows: right-click folder, TortoiseSVN -> Update to revision, and type in 15000 Step 2 Linux: svn switch --relocate http://eathena-project.googlecode.com/svn https://rathena.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rathena <path_to_working_copy> Windows (TortoiseSVN): right-click your eAthena folder --> TortoiseSVN --> Relocate in the "To URL" box, enter the new SVN url: https://rathena.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rathena click OK To those of you who provide mirrors of the eAthena SVN, please update your repository so it syncs to the new url: svn propset --revprop -r 0 svn:sync-from-url https://rathena.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/rathena <url_to_repos>
  12. As far as I know, no way for the user to change it. We could manually edit it in SQL, but I'm not sure if MediaWiki would still recognize it's you. I wonder if we can make the IPBWiki extension sync to users' Display Name rather than their Login Name. *adds to todo list*
  13. Are there any that look like this current theme? I like the IP.Board 3.1 skin XD
  14. I installed IPBWiki so we could use our forum login on the wiki.

The 2 eAthena userbars are also uploaded here:

  16. Brian

The userbars came from here: http://www.userbars.com/gallery/search/eathena.php (the second eAthena userbar isn't showing in search). I also used that website to animate the userbars into 1 gif.

    Captcha

Thanks for the feedback. For now, I turned of the GD Captcha and enabled Question & Answer instead. I also submitted a ticket to Sourceforge asking if they would consider allowing outgoing connections to reCAPTCHA. If that doesn't work out, I'll look into editing the captcha-generating PHP file to make it less impossible.
  18. I setup a link to the #athena channel using Mibbit: http://eathena.sourceforge.net/irc/chat If IRC channel changes, we can edit that later. Yes we can make it show Reputation on users' profiles, but I turned it off because I was thinking reputation would be for +1'ing content (posts). If someone wanted to rate a person, they can use the 5-star rating on their profile page.
  19. Before we get to far.. should we use IPB 3.1 (currently what you see here) or IPB 3.2.2 (the latest version)? Here's an example if you haven't seen what IPB 3.2 looks like: IPB 3.1 = (this board) IPB 3.2.2 = http://eathena.sourceforge.net/ipb322/ I didn't like 3.2.2 because it felt a little sluggish - Live Search in the ACP loads slower.. XD - click Sign In -> AJAX window and Chrome doesn't autocomplete the fields (not sure about other browsers)

    Captcha

Sorry if the registration Captcha was too hard. If you know of anyone having issues, make sure they know it's case sensitive. Edit: sorry, we can't use reCAPTCHA because Sourceforge does not allow outbound connections from their project web hosting
  21. hi Lemongrass (yay your avatar!) Does the wiki just load really slow, or does it not work at all? Sourceforge has some restrictions on their project web hosting (all outbound connections are blocked). I think MediaWiki uses outbound connections to check InterWiki links and maybe other stuff too. I'm still looking into it and probably going to disable all the Http::Get in MediaWiki. Or it might be the Vector skin. Can you try these and see if they load any faster? ipbwiki_skin - http://eathena.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page&useskin=ipbwiki_skin ipbwiki_skin_monobook - http://eathena.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page&useskin=ipbwiki_skin_monobook I like the SVN Log too! I hope it will be a way to make everyone more aware of SVN commits (they might read forums but not check the SVN Log as often). I left the topics open so users can comment on SVN commits. Yes you're right it might lead to unnecessary questions.. maybe I should make a "This is NOT a support section" announcement there. I'll leave replies enabled for now and we'll see how it goes. I copied Global Announcements and will probably copy some announcements/pinned topics from each section, but I did not plan on copying individual topics. I don't know what will "officially" happen yet, but I am certain these forums will stay for a long time because Sourceforge project web hosting is FREE! International section - yes. Hiring new moderators - not sure yet, maybe depending on how the other staff respond. PS: does the iPhone app require any special configuration on our end, or does it just use the IP.Board Mobile skin? Hi Codex, we will not be stickying every topic from the old forum but you are welcome to copy them over. I already copied Global Announcements and I will copy some announcement/pinned topics from each section. If [eathena.ws/board/] is still going to be online (at least read-only), I don't see the need to copy every topic from there.

    Hi !

Hey Mercurial, no admin(s) decided yet - maybe Jguy! I enabled the Reputation System thinking then we could +1 posts. Like if you asked a question and the person's answer was helpful, +1 the post instead of a bunch of short "Thanks!" posts. So reputation would be for +1'ing content (posts). If someone wanted to rate a person, they can use the 5-star rating on their profile page. I also enabled topic Ratings in all the Download and Releases sections.
  23. When I initially setup the forums, I only created the regular English sections to save time. I do plan to setup the International sections in the future. Maybe I'll contact the current Int'l Mods on the old forums to find out if they want any sections added/changed.
  24. Re: http://www.eathena.ws/board/index.php?act=findpost&pid=1061091379 How does this sound to everyone? any other suggestions?
