I believe there should be some sort of mix between plain terrain and trees before placing the forest. Looks good overall and I like the idea . No detail at all. You have pretty good small detail around your houses, and I know you're probably thinking that's whats MOST important, but even small insignificant things make the bigger picture all the more lovely to look at. You're doing great, just don't forget that there is shrubbery and whatnot in forests, more than just trees. Also idk if the trees are all the same size, but if they are, switch it up, make some larger/smaller so that it doesn't look so uniform.
