Server not Saving $vars

Question

Posted

hey guys!

I know, what's a mod doing asking for server support?

Well, unfortunately, I'm a scripting mod, and that's pretty much here I draw the line... (npc scripting that is)

in any case...

I have TXT server, the config file shows

// Mapserver permanent script variables ($-type)

mapreg_txt: save/mapreg.txt

so this should be right? right?

While doing a recording for Scripting for Dummies I came across the concept that for some reason my server was NOT storing $var and $var$ in this file...

I can move to SQL if preferred, but I like TXT because it loads faster...

thoughts? should I just give up and use an SQL installation? (I guess eventually I will have to, to show SQL in my Scripting for Dummies Lessons)

* Edit * Pulled Revision 14998 from the google-code SVN ...

Will not compile.... failing with limits.h from 3rd party... ?

Anyone have a sql server I can download from them ?? <33

That's what i thought, but I have /save/ and all the files... all permission = full access...

I don't know, maybe it was a problem with the server vbrenth gave me... I modified it to use sql anyways (since my tutorial series will eventually be branching into the sql eventually) and everything worked fine... so either way, I'm good.

3.Open server again.

(It seem server didn't saving it.)

4.Open server

5.Close map-server by typing @mapexit.

6.Close all.

7.success.

So maybe problem is on server saving delay.
