how to apply updates ?

please help me.. 
I'm a newbie..
I think this is the fix to my skipping asura problem.. 
But I don't know how to apply this.. 
Should I use putty ? If yes, what are the commands I need to use.. 
Or should i Manually do it.. like find the line then copy paste ?

I searched google for instructions and tried different commands in putty.. but nothing happened.. =/

Windows:

find "runserver_sql.bat"

go back up 1 step

right click

X (GIT / SVN) > Update

 

linux:

find "athena-start"

go back up 1 step

enter this command:

GIT?

 GIT: git pull (folder name) e.g:

git pull rAthena

 

SVN?

svn update (folder name) e.g:

svn update rAthena
