I'm trying to update to the lastest version github version 11803. However, it will let me compile but when I start the server it immediatly crashes. I tried it again with only the bare minimum conf files setup and it still crashes. The one thing I havn't done is update the new SQL files because if I can't get the update to work I have to reload my old server files and those sql tables would mess it up. Is this the case where its not going to work without the updated SQL tables? I would like to make absotely sure before I go ahead with updating them. Please keep in mind that I have update my server probably over a hundred times so its not a matter of lack of knowledge. Thanks.

apparently there are some problems with the core files,, we need someone who can provide the core dump for a fix to be made,

I don't know but I do remember seeing a bunch of errors. It said stuff like j could not be found in the item_group_db. No new line at the end of a file. Files wearn't optomized. Bunch of stuff... Hopefully somebody will let me know when its good to go. Thanks.

Thanks if its just a matter of updating the SQL files then its no issue to me. I was just worried about it not working after I updated those files and then there was no going back. Usually the SQL files don't affect enough to cause it to crash on startup. Once I got it loaded it would take it down and update the SQL. Kind of backwards but it was a result of a very bad situation I had back on eA when one of the updates were bad with the repository and I didn't know it. I think I pulled out enough hair to make a full wig before I knew it wasn't anything I was doing! Thanks again!

I just update all SQL files and then recompiled GIT 11810. It compiled with no errors, however, I have the same result as before. I click start server and it attempts to open one of the server dialog windows. However it is blank and immediately closes. Thanks.

Hmm turns out i was a few behind also, i updated, also stuck with and issue, just like your's. Except i can get online, but mobs have no drops, and @item doesn't work, and frequent dc's @_@ but yeah sorry that was my misunderstanding ... Working to fix my end issue i'll keep you posted.

I just started over with all my files. I redid all my conf/import files incase there was an issue there. Used no mods of any kind except for updating my packet version in the src folder. My SQL files are completely updated for git 11812 including the one that was just added. Still the same effect. I don't get any errors compiling, but when I start server the dialog box is blank than immediately closes. I hope this can get figured out soon.

I'm not sure how to make a dump. As for a pic of whats going on its as simple as it compiles fine then when you start the server it pops up the dialog box like what would normally be the map/char/login server. Except that only one box appears and its empty. Then it closes as fast as it opens. I don't really have anything else to g on. The only edit I made to the files was to put my info to connect to sql db and the various ip adresses info. That was checked multiple times to ensure it was done correctly. Thanks for your reply.

I submitted a bug report however no response to it all since yesterday. Maybe if you post your issues there for more info it might help. I had another guy pm me about the same kind of issue. I told him to post here, but I guess he never did. Thanks.

We can't fix it without being able to reproduce, see the issue or have more info. Right now the only info we have is dialogue doesn't pop, there never had been dialogue maybe some message but you can hardly call that a dialogue if you can't anwser and I doubt you had the option :

in conf/map_athena.conf

or did you ?

 

Now what OS are you trying to run that to ?

nb : there no git 11810 and now git 11812, those are svn version number

"I click start server" ?? what that button

"when I start the server it immediatly crashes" If that so you'd at least have an error message for us

 

So sorry but I can't do anything without more info

Really the easiest way to show you Lighta is if you have teamviewer. Anyways, I use CentOS accessed through VNC. I understand that the svn version number but I'm not sure how to get the actual version number anymore. I'm still learning the git stuff. The console in map_athena is set to off, should that be changed? Through VNC I have the option to recompile and start server on the desktop. Up until now it has worked fine. Thanks for your reply.

well then come in IRC I'll connect with teamviewer and see the issue right away, If it's something everyuser could have I,ll push the fix right away in the repo.

=> those look more like your hoster then US givin those file, so the link might be broken.

When you trying launching the serv trough :

 

open a terminal

cd /your-server-path
./athena-start start

 

was that working ?

The issue was caused by AzuraHosting, those having the same issue need to update

/root/RO_login

/root/RO_char

/root/RO_map

 

and change map-server_sql to map-server, (strip the _sql on each file as it been around 2month that was being changed)
