This it's my first time creating models, and i think it's fun. I hope everyone like them. The Knight it's kind of weird, i will remake it soon. Luckly, you can't see the mane :S Pawn Rook Knight Bishop

I believe these chess pieces you did, came by editing multiple shapes am I right? In case it is, I wonder about the horse, you did the shape for it? or there is a pre made shape in max near as that? I'm really glad to see the first thread about some 3D work from the community in this forum btw.

Perhaps you can try a quick handy way to turn a model into low poly which is by using the optimize tool in max (Modifiers --> Optimize). But since it is an automated process the results are allways not that good. The best results at transforming a high poly model into a low poly in my opinion, is with what they call as 'retopology' which it is all manual but with really great results. I just started yesterday, and i must admit it was because of you, orlox. Every time i see anything, i think of the endless posibilities of what can i do. Every thing was made from scratch, using some just lines, like i make on "slice", and using the modifier "Lathe". I think i will make a tutorial on how to make those pieces. but i was thinking about to sell those models once i have applied the textures and export them to RSM. Maybe the tutorial i will make it after some days, since i have a lot of work, and i have a lot to learn, since this it's not RO modeling, but instead something i think it's general modeling. Thank you for the feedback guys. Hey very nice models indeed =P being the first ones you do are very well done!. I believe these chess pieces you did, came by editing multiple shapes am I right? I answered that question, but i want to add more info about it, and more screens for that (I just realized that i converted the model into a Editable mesh, making it unable to see what i did before). The Horse, was one of the most dificult pieces that i made. Just to beging with, it's made just like the one side surface of the horse, using just Lines (in the command box, on shapes) modifing the lines to make it a horse shape, and then aply the surface modifier, more adjustments (to make the details), adding the mane and then using the Mirror modifier (though i can't recall the exact modifier name). Anyways, i can make it again, since i just didn't liked the whole model, it just weird :/ BTW, i will try converting them into a low poly model.
