Some of my players have been a little distraught over the Renewal Drop Rate Modifier. Bear in mind, my server is a low rate (1x/1x/1x) server. I personally think it's a valid concept, in that: Lower level players have a place in the market. (Adds opportunity for new players) It reduces high level item farming. Adds value to having a variety of characters of different levels. Encourages cooperation between players of varying levels. The one large grievance I've been hearing is that in some circumstances (high levels farming low level items), the drop rate is lower than 0.1% (drops to 0.05%). Yet, since this is an intentional game mechanic, I don't personally see the issue. They're treating it like it's a flaw in the system, but I'm failing to see it that way. I know veteran players are the ones most likely to take issue with it, because it's different than what they are used to. We (my server) try to stay close to traditional Renewal RO, but I'm also hesitant to change something that I see as a valid game mechanic simply because "iRO disabled it", or "iRO does it this way". Thoughts are appreciated.

I think I understand, so the item_drop_card_min being 1 was actually lower than 1%. Should I change all of the minimum rates from 1 to 100? Edit: With these settings: This should correctly set 1% drop rates? When I logged back in and check the Hydra card, it was saying 0.50% chance of drop.

Mage spells seem to be missing effect animations.
Talaysen replied to Talaysen's question in General Support
A few players on my server have reported that mage spells do not have any animation/visual effect. Edit: Well, the solution finally dawned on me last night. Run setup.exe, second tab, enable 'Effects'. >_> -
Hi all. I've had some players on my server concerned about the drop rates. We have 1x/1x/1x drop rates, yet @mobinfo displays 0.00% drop rate for certain mobs. IE: @mobinfo poring shows a drop rate of 0.00% for the poring card. As far as I can tell everything is configured correctly, however. Spoiler tag for drops.conf:

While in the training grounds, testing the Mage class, the three available spells don't seem to have effects. The little circle/aura appears beneath the character while casting, but no other visible effects. Not sure if I have something misconfigured, not really sure where to start looking. Any advice greatly appreciated.

I was updating to the current SVN, I wasn't updating the SQL files. You'll see when it downloads the latest SVN, sometimes it downloads updated SQL files. You have to manually add those, or after a while, things will stop working correctly. I have PHPMyAdmin available, so I manually import through that.
-
I wasn't sure if that would enable it for all players regardless of class, but I imagine if only merchants can get carts, then that wouldn't be the case. I'll go ahead and add that with the other default user commands. Thanks for the response!

Is @autotrade a default mechanism for merchant class characters? I wasn't sure if this was something that would automatically be available. Or, do I just need to enable it for the default group in groups.conf? Thanks!

Textures: Pin Code Buttons and Guild Buttons

I fixed the three buttons. They now say "Ok" instead of "EXIT". Feel free to add them to your pack, if you so desire. Fixed-buttons.zip -

Someone just pointed out to me that on the 'Service Selection' screen, the two buttons at the bottom, one says 'Exit' and the other says 'Cancel'. The one that says 'Exit' should say 'Confirm' or 'Log In', or something of the such. Wasn't sure if it was related to the installation of this pack, as I hadn't noticed it until just now. Was wondering if you might have any ideas? -
Question about @commands and traditional Renewal RO
Talaysen replied to Talaysen's question in General Support
My server is (very) low rate, 1x/1x/1x. I was picking through the list of commands, I was thinking of making these available: @go @autoloot <-- Unsure? @rates @time @uptime @refresh @showexp @showzeny @showdelay @noask @font @mail @mobinfo @iteminfo @commands @charcommands @help @exp @stats @storagelist @cartlist @itemlist @who @who2 @who3 @whogm @jailtime @me @main @auction @trade @autotrade @party @partyoption @changeleader @partyrecall I'm not entirely certain about: @storage @storeall @dropall @save @load @duel @invite @accept @reject @leave I'm not sure, out of these, what are considered common "bread and butter" commands. I don't want to deprive people of normal, useful commands, but I also want to avoid granting anything that's going to unbalance things, or make things 'too easy'. -
I couldn't find anything on this on Google or here. Was wondering, for the @commands, are these exclusive to rAthena, or is this something that was available in traditional RO? I'm trying to figure out what commands should be available to players, while keeping to the theme of traditional/balanced (renewal) RO. Thanks!

Textures: Pin Code Buttons and Guild Buttons
Talaysen replied to Meister's topic in Maps & 3D Resources Downloads
I'll keep fiddling with it, something may just be botched up Great jobs on the buttons, though! Edit: As it turns out, my patcher was pointing to the wrong GRF. After updating the patcher itself (to update the config), I was able to successfully patch in the buttons to the specified folder. Worked perfectly, they look great. -

Trying to add these as a patch to my RO server. I'm using Thor Patcher, I've created a directory, and placed the image files in: NR326/data/texture/À¯ÀúÀÎÅÍÆäÀ̽º/ I added the files to those directory, I've selected RO - GRF from the drop down, and targeted my server's GRF. I added the directory 'NR326/data/texture/À¯ÀúÀÎÅÍÆäÀ̽º/' as the Input. (Directory is selected). Filenames in directory are Ascii is selected. ------- Generated the patch, added it to the Plist, it seems like my patcher is downloading the patch, but when I load the game, the PIN CODE is still showing the korean buttons. -
So from what I gathered, the issues I was having was because I hadn't recompiled rAthena. I did: make clean make sql Now I'm getting an issue with my login server: [info]: Attempt to connect to login-server... [Error]: make_connection: connect failed (socket #6, error 111: Connection refused)! It worked before, and so far as I can tell nothing changed in my settings. >_> ------ Edit: SQL files needed to be updated. I implemented each file manually through phpmyadmin (import). A couple of them gave errors/didn't work, but overall everything seems to be fine.
-
I'm now running SVN 17210 This issue still persists. I also have a similar issue where, when users attempt to put certain items in Kafra storage, it results in ?? Commands like @main on result in ??, or @main <message>, results in ?? I'm also getting some errors on rathena startup: (Some NPC errors, some quest errors)
-
Anything for this? It's handicapping at the very least.
-
I have this same issue. SVN: 17207 Some commands result in ?? Issuing, say, "@mapinfo" results in in a printout of ?? of various lengths. Nearly half of the @commands result in this error.

Anyone? Really don't want to release this client with a bunch of extra/unnecessary files in it. Just not sure what out of the list is required and what isn't.
-
I'm going to make my client available to people who want to play on my server. Everything is set up fairly well, except I feel like there may be a handful of unnecessary files in the folder at this point. I'm not sure what's crucial for the game to run, but to alleviate some of the burden to my bandwidth, anything I could safely remove would be great. Here's the list: (If you could * the unnecessary files, I'd be grateful Items with brackets are [Folders] [AI] [AI_sakray] [bGM] [Replay] [saveData] [system] [HShield] [skin] [doc] ragexe.exe lua.exe Init.exe Patchup.exe RagexeRE.exe Ragnarok_RE.exe RagnarokReplay.exe vcredist_x86.exe ASPLnchr.exe NymphRO.exe (My diffed server client) NymphRO Patcher.exe rsu-kro-rag-lite rsu-kro-renewal-lite SavePath_Rag SavePath_Sak Setup aossdk.dll binkw32.dll cps.dll D3DX9_42.dll D3Dx9_43.dll dbghelp.dll granny2.dll ijl15.dll mfc90.dll mfc90u.dll Mss32.dll msvcm90.dll msvcp60.dll msvcp90.dll msvcr90.dll NPCHK.DLL npkcrypt.dll npkeysdk.dll npkpd.dll NPPSK.DLL npupdate.dll NPUPDATED0.DLL NPX.DLL suipre.dll v3hunt.dll Mp3dec.asi FORMAT.CFG KOR_LANG.CFG DATA.INI LDAT.INI Ragnarok.ini GameGuard.des NPCSCAN.DES notice_close2.html notice_Rag.html notice_Test.html data.grf login_background.grf (my grf for login screen) nymphro.grf (my data grf) ragnarok.ico Uninstall.ico GravityMain.jpg supdate.log itemInfo.lub Mssfast.m3d Micrsoft.VC90.CRT.manifest Microsft.VC90.MFC.manifest Ragexe.exe.manifest IFU7A.ini IFU13.ini IFU19.ini IFUEC.ini Patch.ini PatchRE.ini npkcrypt.sys npkcusb.sys GuildTip.txt notice_close.txt notice_patch.txt questID2display.txt tipOfTheDay.txt npkcrypt.vxd Second question: For the BGM folder, is there any way to protect the contents of the folder?

Thanks, that actually helps quite a bit. Though.. is it just me, or is rAthena more stable/better developed? It just seems like the support staff and member base here is a bit more responsive and involved. (I hate asking "stupid" questions, but..) I'm a complete noob when it comes to RO, especially server side. With my current installation of rAthena, I'm assuming there's (like most games) occasional updates/changes to the game. Are updates manually applied, and does the client need to be changed when the server updates?
-
I've recently installed rAthena, and I've spent the past week trying to figure out how I want the server to run, in terms of experience gains, drop rates, npcs, and the like. I've decided that I want my server to be as close to traditional ragnarok online as possible. How close is rAthena to this, "out of the box", on a fresh install? Is there anything specifically that I should enable/disable? Really, I'm just fishing for recommendations/suggestions. If you have any, I'm more than willing to hear them.
-
Edit: I deleted the original installation and reverted the changes to the MySQL database, downloaded the Flux CP at: https://github.com/m...ntara/fluxcp-ra This issue still exists (certain pages, same ones mentioned below not loading), I have to assume that something is improperly configured on my end, perhaps some sort of file permission? Any suggestions at all would be appreciated. ------ (Additional note: It seemed like more pages had been giving the same issue, like the Ranking Info. page, but once I created a character on the server, that page started functioning. Is it just a lack of data causing the issue?) ----- Original Issue: I've installed FluxCP somewhat successfully, but I have a question, -Certain pages are not working, while others work as intended. When registering a new account, instead of receiving a confirmation, you get a blank page. Pages 'Who's online' and 'Server Info.' also show blank page. (In IE: instead of a blank page, I get a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) This also happens when logging in. The login is successful, but there is no redirect. It simply shows a blank white page. Anyone know what might be causing this? In Internet Explorer it shows up as a HTTP 500 internal server error, in firefox, the page simply doesn't load (blank white page). This happens with: Server Info. Who's Online It also happens while logging in, when you enter your account details, on page: The eA logs page will load, but the sub links: Commands, Chat Messages, Logins, Item Picks, all give the blank page/http 500 error. Pretty much all of the other admin console links are dead as well: Not sure if it's relevant, but in my application.php: 'ServerAddress' => 'nymphro.com', // This value is the hostname:port under which Flux runs. (e.g., example.com or example.com:80) 'BaseURI' => '', // The base URI is the base web root on which your application lies. I wasn't sure what to put (if anything) for BaseURI, as all of the Flux CP files are located in the main directory (public_html/)

Questions about Recommended Client & Setup
Talaysen replied to Talaysen's question in Client-side Support
(Solved) Turned out, the client was working fine. I run multiple monitors, and the game doesn't handle that well. Switched it to full screen, it popped up on one of the monitors running as intended. Elqpal, thanks for the offer, I had gotten a PM from Judas offering to help just before your reply. And, many thanks to Judas, without him looking it over with me, I'd still be stuck exactly where I was.
