Doesn't Allow Others to Connect

Question

Posted

I've been trying to have it allow others to connect to my server.

I have read many topics of people having the same issue as me and the closest one that had my problem and was fixed is http://rathena.org/board/topic/78248-mapchar-server-how-to-let-other-people-connect/#entry177021.

I followed all of what Winz said but the part about IP reservation. I tried to follow that but it gave an error and fixed it back to default settings. When I did not allow it to fix itself, I had no internet for over 5 minutes beforing putting it back on default.

When my wife tried to connect to my server or I use my wan IP, the log-server recognizes our IP trying to connect but thats it. We get fail to connect. We do use the same modem to connect to the internet with the only difference is my computer is directly plugged in and her laptop connects with wireless.

I do have all ports forwarding. I used several sites to check and they all say port 6900, 5121 and 6121 are open.

I can log in using 127.0.0.1 for my clientinfo.xml IP but not with my wan IP.

I really want to be able to play along side my wife and no matter what I do it just doesn't work.

So please help.

Hi DeathClaw,

In your char/map/login .conf files; make sure you are not using the 'bind_ip' function. Also, for the IP addresses; declare your WAN IP (do not use LAN/127.0.0.1).

Hello,

first, comment out (disable) the "bind_ip" config on login_athena, char_athena, and map_athena.

open char_athena.conf, and set:

login_ip: 127.0.0.1

char_ip: your WAN IP / no-IP identity (like yourragnarok.no-ip.org)

open map_athena.conf, set:

char_ip: 127.0.0.1

map_ip: your WAN IP / no-IP identity (like yourragnarok.no-ip.org)

don't forget that if you have done some changes on subnet_athena.conf, it is recommended to revert all changes.

*all changes to the subnet_athena.conf
