Sprite Recolor

hi guys again ^ ^ i wanted to know tutorial of how to recolor sprite, Somebody have a tutorial and tools? can i use the magic hand tool is select the part of the sprite and recolor only this part? when i use the pencil the color is weird and not Appears T_T

 

 

what tool should I use? paint can also be used?

 

why when I saved as 8 bits in paint colors look weird?

almost this. But i wanted recolor only this part but the palette not wanna help-me.

when I go to the palette, it selects all shades of red and I only want the left part
