I can connect mysql database that run from my computer..

I can use no-ip.org domain name that change my ip..

I already config all ip's in map,char and login into my current ip..

I already config subnet_athena..

I already portforward my port..

BUT..

Why my server not running? /wah Which is my problem?

Im using SMC Barricade Router Modem.. Im using latest RVN of rAthena.. But all 3 of them cant connect each other.. But only Map can connect to Char.. But sometimes it said timeout and connect again.. But pretty slow than usual..

Try using your localhost first or take a look at the wiki:

If you can afford it, go with a cheap VPS and don't run it through localhost. save yourself the headache and hassle by paying $10 a month

You are saying that he should try a vps when he can´t even do it on his pc?

Thats not very smart imho.

And what headache / hassle is there? editing a few lines to 127.0.0.1?

I honestly find sql and compilation a headache in windows compared to linux.

imho, it would be beneficial to him to get a cheap vps that is running centos.

He could setup phpmyadmin, mysql plugins and drag over his rathena files quickly.

you could have a server up in a short amount of time.

Some parts definitely are a bit easier on linux. eg. make

But most people use windows and feel overwhelmed by simply looking at a command line.

And the Issue here isn´t even the mysql server but rather the normal server to server connection.

I would have guessed that the problem lies within the configured username/pass but the "slow" connection as he stated points into a different direction.

Btw a screenshot of the error would actually help a bit.

/hmm i tried configure like this :

// Login Server IP

// The character server connects to the login server using this IP address.

// NOTE: This is useful when you are running behind a firewall or are on

// a machine with multiple interfaces.

login_ip:192.168.2.101

// The character server listens on the interface with this IP address.

// NOTE: This allows you to run multiple servers on multiple interfaces

// while using the same ports for each server.

//bind_ip: 127.0.0.1

// Login Server Port

login_port: 6900

// Character Server IP

// The IP address which clients will use to connect.

// Set this to what your server's public IP address is.

char_ip: jro.zapto.org

// Character Server Port

char_port: 6121

But its cant connect at all.. It said connection refused.. Errr.. Can tell me which 1 i do wrong? If all i set into WAN IP, i cannot connect too.. But dont have connection refused.. It just said listening but not connect at all.. I recheck my port forward and its really working.. But if i try use eathena TXT i can connect easily.. But eathena SQL also have same problem.. But i use rathena now..

BTW what "rAthena-10" use for? That need to be open with visual studio.. I cant open it.. I got error.. Its said my virtual cannot support by this version of aplication..

/wah Im sorry for any trouble..

/pif after recheck and recheck and recheck.. Finally i got it connected.. My problem is :

userid: l1

passwd: r1 << I recheck at mysql database.. I already change it once.. But maybe forgot to apply.. Because i check again its default.. Change into current U/P..

// Character Server IP

// The map server connects to the character server using this IP address.

// NOTE: This is useful when you are running behind a firewall or are on

// a machine with multiple interfaces.

char_ip: 192.168.2.101 <<Before this i put my WAN IP.. Then 2nd time i forgot to put my LAN Ip.. I put default gateway instead.. My mistake..

// The map server listens on the interface with this IP address.

// NOTE: This allows you to run multiple servers on multiple interfaces

// while using the same ports for each server.

//bind_ip: 127.0.0.1

// Character Server Port

char_port: 6121

// Map Server IP jro.zapto.org

// The IP address which clients will use to connect.

// Set this to what your server's public IP address is.

map_ip: jro.zapto.org << Its working fine..

// Map Server Port

map_port: 5121

So.. My server is running now.. Thanks for share your opinion and tell me which part i forgot or miss-watch.. My mistake.. Hahaha.. Cant blame me though.. Its about 2-3 years since my last setup with eAthena.. XD Thanks2...

Edit your inter_athena.conf

// Global SQL settings
// overriden by local settings when the hostname is defined there
// (currently only the login-server reads/obeys these settings)
sql.db_hostname: 127.0.0.1
sql.db_port: 3306
sql.db_username: root
sql.db_password: password
sql.db_database: ragnarok
sql.codepage:
// MySQL Character SQL server
char_server_ip: 127.0.0.1
char_server_port: 3306
char_server_id: root
char_server_pw: password
char_server_db: ragnarok
// MySQL Map SQL Server
map_server_ip: 127.0.0.1
map_server_port: 3306
map_server_id: root
map_server_pw: password
map_server_db: ragnarok
// MySQL Log SQL Database
log_db_ip: 127.0.0.1
log_db_port: 3306
log_db_id: root
log_db_pw: password
log_db_db: log
log_codepage:
log_login_db: loginlog

/wah i change it there.. But said denied..i use my hosted mysql.. as i know.. its shared hosted not dedicated.. Since i got from my monthly paid webhost.. since my username of host is XXX.. so all mysql username or database must start with XXX_username or XXX_database.. They give remote host ip.. I can install any forum or blog with same mysql setup.. But to setup rathena sql to there.. Rathena said denied.. try login from SQL Workbench also same problem.. /hmm

It really won't work because that's your web host. Your MySQL database must be on the same host. Make sure you install MySQL Server. I suggest you read this step by step tutorial by Judas.

Yes, MySQL must be running on your PC. You'll need MySQL Server and Workbench. If you set them up correctly by following Judas' guide, all you need to change on your inter_athena.conf is the database password.
