[Cleared] Endless setup.exe window

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi guys!

I have a weird problem with my RO Client.

Everytime when I start my patched RagexeRE, the Setup.exe window pops out. After I click on "Okay", the setup.exe window opens again. It doesn't stop and after I click on "Okay" it opens again.

I'm only able to stop this with killing the RagexeRE process over the task manager.

I tried it with the three following different diffed .exe client files:

  • 2011-09-06aRagexeRE.exe.patched
  • 2011-11-22aRagexeRE.exe.patched
  • 2012-05-09bRagexeRE.exe.patched

The result is the same, with every client.

What could be the problem? I would be very happy if someone knows a solution.

@Judas: I'm using the "RagnarokOnline OpenSetup" but also tried out the original Setup.exe from Gravity, of course with Admin Permissions. The result is the same, only with other GUI. And I don't use "HKLM to HKCU". That's really weird! :/

Do you use the lua flavor (credits include a lua copyright notice) of opensetup, or the registry one? If you use the registry-based one, you need the lua one, as the clients you listed use lua for settings. The official blue one should work, too.

@quesoph: Okay, I tried to use another RagexeRE without the "read data folder first" but it still doesn't work.

@Ai4rei: I'm using the newest stable version of OpenSetup with lua.

The problem is still existing, I tried much methods but still no success.

Okay, the problem is solved. I tried the official Blue Setup and it's working. Thanks all for your time.
