I've always wanted to know how the Karma system works in Ragnarok Online o-o... Like, everytime you right click on a person, you get to increase their rep/karma or decrease it o_o.

How would you get an NPC to check on what their current Karma level is ?

And why did Ragnarok add this in o_o

I don't know what the Karma system is factually for, but I can image they would use it for functions such as NPC behavior towards playing characters.

This could result in varying chat options to choose from, denying services (save, teleport), possibly bribing related functions, and in case of shops: overprice/underprice purchases and sold items.

It could be applied to certain battle/luck factors as well, perhaps something along the lines of hightening/lowering the overal chance of certain skills to be used succesfully, or allowing a slight possibility of no gemstone being used whereas normally it would require a gemstone to use a given skill.

It was used to help you rate an Player and to see if he is a good guy or a bad guy.

You were able to right click him and give him a good manner or bad manner Point.

Same System was usable for Guild as well by the way!

However the System got abused heavily (Giving everyone bad reputation just to troll them) and got taken out.

But that was yeaaaaars ago like 2002/2003 or something xD
