Aeomin Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 does it have anything to do with resolving the issue with antiviruses? Sorry no. The reason antiviruses are picky as far as I can tell is the tool that packs configuration data into the patcher. Antiviruses are not happy when a program tries to modify other program file(s), which is the typical way for malware to spread. 1 Quote
EvilPuncker Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) Sad then xd your patcher was the best to use before this Edited June 6, 2012 by EvilPuncker Quote
Mystery Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Sad then xd your patcher was the best to use before this It still is one of the best out there. Just because you have to give the patcher privilege to run, doesn't downgrade Thor Patcher in any way. Quote
EvilPuncker Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 but 95% of the players are dumb enough to whine about it Quote
Aeomin Posted June 8, 2012 Author Posted June 8, 2012 As far as I know, antivirus softwares only complains about the config embed tool, which isn't used by players anyway. Are antivirus softwares complain about patcher itself? It still is one of the best out there. Just because you have to give the patcher privilege to run, doesn't downgrade Thor Patcher in any way. I'm not sure about relation of this to antivirus problem. Are you saying about the windows UAC thing? That can be removed IF RO is not installed in restricted directories such as "Program Files". However, I do no think enforce players install elsewhere would be an ideal solution. Quote

Well, I have sort of mixing up versions myself lately. Every version after 2.6.1.66 is untested, the latest being 2.6.2.70 Quote

KazuyaX93 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 It seems that the patcher won't work on WinXP-Systems... Could you fix that? I have two friends they use WinXP. When they start the patcher, they get the error "An error occured in the application" All other Players they use WinVista and Win7 can start the patcher without problems. Quote
