How to use IRC with trillian?

Hey guyz,

I m using trillian as my messenger,

when I m setting my irc account It is asking me :

• username:
  
• nickname:
  
• hostname:
  

But I dont have any username in there so what shall I put,

even after adding some thing in there

I added irc.deltaanime.net in hostname.

But still i m not able to see anyone in the chatlist nothing...

i m not getting how to use it.

Some help will be appriciated.

irc.deltaanime.net is the SERVER not a chat room... once you are connected, join a chat room...

/join #scripting for example...

You must have a username in order to connect to ANY IRC server, even if you don't have a registered one, you still need to be identified some how;)

Account Name is just a name to identify this connection in your list of accounts in Trillian

nick name is your IRC name

host name is the IRC server host (irc.deltaanime.net, but we'll probably be changing that soon)

And as Z3R0 said, if you don't have a registered nick you still have to put something. Once you're connected, you can register your nick by typing: /ns register

In Trillian, here's how to make it auto-join channel(s) on future startups:

- on the Accounts page, next to your ____ via IRC account, click Settings

- click the Miscellaneous tab, and put this in the Commands section:

/join #athena

you can also auto-login with your password:

/ns id <password here>
