Recommend a good guide to follow

Hello guys,

 

As the title says, i’m looking for a newbie friendly guide to follow for my server. I’ve been researching for a few days about how to create my own private server and there are indeed a lot of guides. So many that i got confused what to follow.

 

What i’m trying to do is create a server that is offline for now and would like to make it available to my friends and to whoever who wants to play it in the future. Can you guys please recommend me a good guide to follow?
