Hairstyles causing client crash

Why is it that when I change the max_hair_style in battle.c from 27 to my new value my client crashes while I scroll through the hairstyles in the character selection screen, but when I use the normal value my client works normally and displays all custom hairstyles perfectly fine?

 

Edit: Is it even necessary to change the battle.c? I just found out that changing the client.conf was enough for everything to work normally. Does this mean I don't have to edit the source anymore?

the hairstyle selection in the char creation screen, I believe it's hard coded in the source, you will probably need to find it and change it based on your preferences.
