What is the primary key there, the charID or the accountID? Else players with the same account but different characters will create duplicate entries due to it being the PK.

Hello,
what you need to worry is the location. What region will most of your players be, if you have an idea already i suggest get a server close to that region.
In my experience i prefer west coast server which has low latency on almost all region.
Hmm, I have read something about what you say, and I had a question for that.
What ping is enough good?
300ms is it?
That 300ms depends from where it is. If it's across the globe it can be 'acceptable', if it's next door, it's completely unacceptable.
If you live in the USA and have a server either in the centre or the other side of the country, then your max ping should be about 120ms.
When you're talking about crossing oceans (Asian players joining on server residing in the USA) ping can be up to 300ms, sometimes even higher. But this all depends on where the server is situated and what kind of players you want to draw to your server. So if you could, give us a little bit more information and we'll be able to provide better feedback

What git revision are you on now?
If it's the latest, you might want to disable the "Skip Packet Header Obfuscation". Also, patch with NEMO instead to be able to set the encryption keys that you see in packet_db for packet 30.

Update your translation files & modify your System/itemInfo.lua to have the correct information.
Make sure you have your sprites in the right folders.

Packet spamming is no longer possible by normal means, with this feature each packet sent has its own id, so spamming (by sending the same packet more than once) is impossible.
Due to this nature, packet modifications from 3rd party clients are not able to send the same packets or default packets at all. So WPE, rPE, botting and other packet editing programs won't be able to connect.
Thus, more protection.
That's how I understood it and hopefully this explanation is clear for you.

As for a stable client, some people have different opinions. But an overview of 2013 clients can be found here.
Personally I started with 2012-04-10 but moved on to 2013-08-07. Will make a step to 2013-12-23 or the February client of 2014.

Perfect, already have downloaded and edited the map into the client.
Just another thing, how do i save the edited client? Its not saving as a normal client..
As long you overwrite current data it should work, don't add new data to the client.
For example, if you don't use himinn, overwrite himinn with exact 6 characters for your own map. If you want a longer mapname, you could go for valkyrie.rsw and rename it valkypvp.rsw or whatever the mapname is you want to use.
Just make sure you have an exact amount of characters you want to replace the original map with and don't add new data to the client.
New data will mess up all other calls and jumps and thus break your client's functionality.

They do since the end of February.

if you did, send it over to one of the devs or community peeps and see if they cant commit the updated prt script or at least add it and have it optional for those who arent using the new prontera

I think I've manually changed all warps too for the new Prontera map, would people be interested in that?

Replace the map you have for the map names that are written in that first method. If not, you'll need to hex your client to add your map to the client data to read your custom map to be one with sky effects.
I suggest renaming your current map (in Browedit 586) to one of the maps you mention above to be the optimal solution for you currently.

i tried this version today too and run in the same problem.
my last_map was prontera, after changing the db entries to geffen i could access the server.
i tested some towns like al de baran, payon, morroc, geffen, alberta and izlude nothing happens, trying to enter prontera crushs the client for me, but there is no error shown.
my client doesnt have any custum except the translation and clientinfo.xml.
i also run a update for kro.
if i can find any other hints i let u know

as judas say, is the map ok?
seems like the update damaged the prontera files in my case, after replacing them the client can also load prontera correctly.
i guess you updated your kRO to latest? due to that, kRO has the official latest Prontera Map that is not supported in our clients.

also some places will not be walkable (left/right gate of prontera's stairs), you would need to update your /db/mapcache.dat using weemapcache.
Currently also using 2013-08-07 and I am not using the prontera patch from Tokeiburu any more.
He should probably rebuild his map cache with the new Prontera map to solve his issue, that worked for me.

The only difference so far I see in my own and your set-up is that I start with patch number 1 instead of 1015.

Seems like the sprite is there permanently once he equips it. Seeing as he unequipped right before taking the screenshot.
I have no clue how to solve it, but this observation might prove useful

It'll be easier to download the latest KRO setup instead and keep private server/personal data in a custom grf-file instead.
The list of what is in the rdata/data.grf files is simply too big.
