Regarding the recent added "Download Forum" I think, it is too big... it consists of 11 Forums That is just too much.
My suggestion is to add subforums to it, I mean, I don't know if you did it fast... but the entire forum of rAthena is sooo well organizated, but, the Download Forum it isnt.
For example:
- Graphics tools should be part of the Graphics Downloads, to gain space.
- Web resources & Control Panel Downloads should be in the same forum
- Modification Downloads and Tool Downloads should be in the same forum? maybe.
- Server Manager and Server Resources should be in the same
What I'm saying its that, the whole Download section is covering allmost all the forum index. As also I think, the sections I mentioned, will not be that -active- or with a high quantity of topics, to remain them as a separated categories.
Please consider to do it, since the other categories in the forum, are important also, and they remain a well organized and most of all --- as a well simplified forum structure, that I'm sure all of us here appreciate that.

Though you maybe don't know about me, I still remember your work like... your xmas towns pack, auras, and some sprittes. That was a long time ago, but I must say that all of your work were certainly pretty good.

Members Online Today is a list of everyone that has viewed any part of the forums the same day (from 0:00 to 23:59). It is also listed at the bottom of the forum page (Index only).
Topic Viewed by User is a mod that currently allows see (everyone) who has read the topic you are in so far.
I don't think I like this mod....it shows members that have viewed a topic anonymously or have logged into the board anonymously. Some people don't like this kind of attention, hence why they're hidden in the first place. >.<
Me too. No one cares who has logged in the forum this day.
And it looks horrible when you enter in the index page, and see 300 member names, its useless, and looks so unclean.
We don't need to have that, Please remove it... this is good for small forums, or small communities, not this one.To Forum Admin have you realised in the near future, that we can have 1,000 names? that part of the forum will be bigger than the forum itself.
Also you should make a poll or something before adding some things. Not all, but some things you should. Keep the forum simple. Password meter is useless, as also forum stats.... that only overcharges the forum website server, for nothing.
Btw: I though Brian was the forum manager. Or I'm wrong?

Great work, your map seems really similar to the original one. I don't personaly like Warcraft design so that's not the most beautiful work you've done for me but the amount of work is quite impressive ans also texture used seems to fit to RO. I've tried to make Darnassus from WoW but it was a disappointement for me, I haven't succeed ;D It'll be great if you can make a guide for rip models from Warcraft III or any other game. It can be an important ressource for newer creations ;D

I know. Warcraft 3 is an old game... the 3d engine is not as good as the RO one, so yeah this is not my most beautiful one :3, but yeah it is one of the most I've worked with.
Regarding the Guide:
I will do it. But quite honestly, I'm still new to this. Though I have started with 3d models about 8 months ago... I allways had an error by exporting them inside browedit. But no more.
What can I do for now, is, importing models from most of 3d games that their models can be exported into 3ds Max. Mind you, There is a limitation with models with a high amount of Polygons; RO can't handle that. But, it is possible to import them by cutting the polygons or faces, into a separated parts. So you can attach them all inside browedit, to compound a big model, that will work correctly.
Importing models from 3d games is more easy, since the textures are ready to be attached to the mesh of your model. Importing models from for ex. outside resources (as a google search of models in 3ds max) are more difficult, since the most ones doesn't includes the texture to fill the mesh, or at least, compatible with a 3d game engine.
Doing models from scratch is very hard. I was learning that a long ago, so far I coulda make some random cubes, and basic polygons.
Anyway, for now, I can make the guide of importing models. Ya know Actually I really dont have the time to do free releases, Maybe I can help with something like that. So nice people as you, and some other mappers that allways shares their work for the community will have a helpfull guide like this one to help and offer a new level of map work.
Though, I woulda make it only for people like you... but not for some leechers that I know that they will look for it, those ones that only cares for money , doesn't work for a server (that they might ask them to not share anything) and never have done a free release in their life.
Anyway, wait for the guide in about 1 week.? But hey, my English is bad you are warned

You should add a cronjob (pre installed in all GNU/Linux distributions) to point a bash script that will read the databases, execute the comand line, and save the backup.
Personally I had one, that stored the backups of 4 databases I had, into chronological order, and added date with hour,minutes and seconds of the file generated.
In the cronjob you can add, the time you want this script executed. I always configured to do this, at 2:00 am or any hour of low population to not overcharge my server.

Hi.
I'm back into mapping. I know, it has been a long time since the lastest "map from scratch" work I did. But anyway, I'm back and ready to show you this one that enters into a new category that I will offer in my Map Services topic that I have to update.
I will call this as "Map Ports"
What is that? well, as its name, this is about porting maps from popular 3d games (actually games supported: Warcraft, League of Legends, World of Warcraft and Starcraft 2) into RO. This work is more about working with 3d models, modify them (if it is necessary since some models crashes and need to be re-edited to import them succesffuly), extract them, and import them into RO, to use it in your map, at a quantity above of 80 - 90% of custom models to your map.
But not only models. This one is about extracting also textures (of the terrain of that map), sounds (for ex. sounds of units, map ambienting). as also MP3 To improve the recreation of the map.
Obviously there are limitations with this. I decided to make this into an apart category, since the work with models it is too much (sometimes, more than the map itself).
Well enough, let's talk about the map itself now:
Yeah, that is the Dota Map. My customer asked me to do the map exactly as I could... but the most important was: the walkways and terrain structure to look near as possible of the original one.

Map is about recreating the Dota All Stars Map. So I needed to extract models, (using 3ds Max and some plugins, since there isn't, or at least I don't now about a native export to 3ds) and import them into RO.

Map in Nightmode, but nightmode colors based in "nightmode" of warcraft 3 pass of time

I extracted some textures of the "ashenvale" forest from warcraft. So I used them for custom bushes, trees, leaves, stones, etc.

I extracted .WAVS files from warcraft data, to add them as custom sounds. So when you reach for ex: a Ziggurat of warcraft, you will hear screams just as in warcraft game

Map preservers very close the same walkway of dota all stars. I used warcraft map editor and a free template to port each walkway of my map. As also a lot of pictures for reference to do it well
First comparison
The first and most important comparison, is the sky view of the map. For me it is really near as the original. I know, it coulda be better... but at first I was working with an "old" dota version, so... anyway, here it is:

Just a view of this base. Let me tell you that all the models are "facing" south, just as in warcraft, because my customer requested it. He will disable camera rotation into his map, so that is the reason:

There the lich king glacier. That was tricky since the model was only available from the "cinematic" data. It was a huge one btw, I had to edit the polygons of it to be usable inside RO... sorry about the "lich" sleketon that is inside of it, I couldn't import it, so I used a random skeleton.

Personally I felt embarrased when I saw that guy saying those things about 3ceAm, without no more proves than his words.
Also saying those things out of context rly in the eAthena sourceforge topic, with no more intention than creating tension among the community and nonsense discutions.

This topic has been debated since before I can remember, and I really just have one thing to say:
Ragnarok emulators have already been tracked and hunted down by Gravity. Gravity proceeded with suing, and lost due to fraudulent evidence against the providers of the emulators. Their case was that their content was stolen. Losing this case means that it cannot be brought to court again thanks to Double Jeopardy. Essentially, this means the same thing for any anti-piracy bill thrown into motion. All this bill provides is an even more stable ground for those with copyrighted content to pursue others who've stolen it. As Gravity has already been unable to prevent the growth of emulators, this bill will then inadvertently have no affect on eAthena, rAthena or any private servers running them.

I wonder, how can I activate this? I know maybe I'm a dumb, but I tried to search for that in my control panel, with no results.
There are some accounts that has this enabled (most female accounts in forum? dunno if it is a coincidence or a setting enabled just for those accounts) but, for some people like -me- this is useful for contact.

You only have to enable 0x200 in your grf factory. (Its near the "GRF version)
