  1. I've finally been able to reproduce your issue (thank you for Ai4rei's comment, it made this quicker). You added a file to the very first node of the project and this is not supposed to be allowed. I'll make this clearer in the next release, but meanwhile, you should be adding files to the "root" node for RGZ and Thor files. The root node represents your RO directory where files will be copied. On a side note, saving your RGZ file again will fix your previous issues. I did that, but it always ignored where I clicked and did whatever it wanted.
  2. Fixed the conversion and saving issues with the RGZ file format in 1.6.6. GRF Editor didn't allow GRFs to be added to a RGZ file (or any other format actually); its defaut behavior is to open the file instead. This was made on purpose because you shouldn't be packing a GRF inside a RGZ file; it's a double compression and it should be avoided. That being said, I've removed the restriction and you can do it now. If you're planning to make a Thor patch, I would recommend the following method instead (you will need the version 1.6.6) : Open your GRF with GRF Editor Go in File > Save as... > Rename it with the .thor extension. Click on the root node (or any other node), and select the "Container options" tab (on the right panel). Use "Merge into GRF" for the patching mode and type in the output GRF name. Save your Thor patch. Once you patch the file with Thor Patcher, it will either create or merge the GRF for you. Hope this helps! I use RSU. I will test this next time I need to (I used a different tool), however, what you said was not what my problem was. Although it did let me add the GRF and save it as an RGZ, it would not extract correctly, the patcher would hang after extracting it. Here's what I was told:
  3. Placing a GRF inside of an RGZ causes odd behavior.
  4. I don't see the need to move you in the Community Contributors group btw. And yet I have 2 +'s on that post.
  5. Premium modules now available for purchase. Click here to purchase. Remember, Triton is STILL technically an Alpha. Please report any bugs you find, most bugs will be patched within 24 hours (if I'm online they will likely be patched within minutes).
  6. Hey Bro, Pretty sure only I can resurrect Ragray since I was the one that made it. Thanks.
  7. Introducing Janus. Janus is a configuration file protection module. It's designed to protect your database information from read access vulnerabilities. Note: Janus is not 100% compatible with the current version of Triton. It will be a drop in replacement soon, but for now you can rename janus.php to import.php to get the protection immediately. Janus will be fully supported in all released versions after the current (r90). ~ EDIT ~ r95 of Triton is now out. Highlights Added Janus. Added Ariel, a new DRM for Triton premium modules. Added rename module. Reorganized payment API configuration variables. **Some were renamed.** Fixed a few bugs in account module.
  8. Added an example advanced skin. It uses a hook and a module. The system allows changing the style sheet dynamically. Download Instructions are in the file. You can see it in action on aesiro.com
  9. Ok. First of all, renewal was the tearing apart and revamping of RO. Second of all I'm not sure why you think "console game" and "MMO" are different things. MMO is a genre and a console is a platform. There are MMOs for consoles. You even mention FF, FFXI is available for PC, PS2 and Xbox 360. FFXIV will be on PC and PS3.
  10. Another option is just disable @who. It doesn't work on large servers anyway.
  11. Give members a title and give yourself the same title. Or you know, stop being corrupt.
  12. Updated! r84 is now available. Change Log (changed from previous version to this release, see full change log here):
  13. Makes sense. RCC will be open for everyone to use, though. Unless you are looking for specific features there is nothing you need to do other than wait. And it takes a lot more than that to offend me.
  14. If I want to give a player an item I can put a fake reason down. Trusting that system still requires trusting the staff, something which most players no longer do. RCC will be open for all servers to use. There is no issues there. It's up to the servers how far they want to integrate, the site will offer varying levels of control. I didn't mean you were trying to start a get rich quick scheme but that you were wording your post like one would word a get rich quick scheme. Here's the latest one that found it's way to my inbox: Your post has lots of buzz words and unverifiable original research. Just like get rich quick schemes. It's understandable that you want to keep your information secret, but until it's verified by a third party it could just be all made up for all anyone else knows.
  15. Playing EVE Online. Edit: I just setup SSL on Raganrok.cc The site and XMPP/Jabber server are now both SSL enabled. The website forces you to use SSL while the Jabber server gives you the option to use it. Most Jabber clients will use SSL by default if it is available. The web chat client uses the web server and thus uses SSL.
  16. I don't really see a connection since RCC is not a server.
  17. Reads like a get rich quick scheme. Just needs the "Normally this all would cost $199, but today only you can have it for the reduced price of $99..." at the end. "Trust me!" "I have tons of data in the form of spreadsheets!" "Of course, I can't show you any of it." No, but seriously, it sounds nice. But I've been in RO since late 2003 and I've seen many a project come and go. Staff selection is one of the hardest things to do as a server owner. You think some of these ideas are original but they aren't. There are several servers that pay their staff and still end up with terrible staff. While there is no shortage of people lining up to be GM, there is a shortage of quality people. Most quality GM's get sick of the same thing and go on to be server owners and run into that very same problem themselves. What most of us would call a "good server" rarely takes off. A lot of people get confused by this. They do everything right, they get in balanced custom items, some don't take donations of any sort. You name it, it's been tried. But they never take off. Why? If you paid any attention at all you'd realize most RO players are drama queens. They like the drama. Sure, they say they don't and they might even think they don't -- but they do. Look at the largest record holding RO servers around today. Most, if not all, of them either have had massive drama or still do. Drama makes the world go 'round. But to be fair, making commands public won't do anything but cause drama. GM A needs to reimburse Player 1, who happens to be a guild leader, for his item that was lost due to a bug and does so. The logs show that it happened but not why it happened. Player 2, of a rival guild, sees this and immediately starts a conspiracy theory that GM A is favoring Player 1 and his guild. His guild will think this no matter what you say from that point on. Even if you put why, people won't believe it if they don't want to. As I said, people like drama and where there isn't drama they will make it. You could blank out names from commands, sure, but then the information is useless and you might as well not do it to begin with. You'd be better off limiting in game powers completely. Binding GMs to their own "world" (map) and limiting their influence to this area. Do support over the web site most of the time, only interacting in game when required. In fact, some of the things I've been working on will nearly remove the need for GMs to have in game powers to start with. When have you ever seen a GM in any other game you've played? I've never seen a GM in another game. I've talked to them over the support system, sure... but never seen them. I've never had a problem where they needed to actually be there in front of me. If GMs can show off in front of other players and you keep it all work and no play, there's less of a reason for people to want to be GM for the wrong reasons. When we instituted this on a server I worked for most of the staff quit -- all of them later found to be corrupt. The current staff has no known or suspected corruption. Some food for thought. P.S. I've said this before.
  18. Triton Control Panel 2 Triton is back! The second version of Triton (formerly Sereon) is currently under development. The project is currently labeled as alpha, but it is almost to the beta stage. As such I'm inviting all to try it. The control panel currently features basic functionality. You are able to create accounts, log in, change your password and email address, manage your characters and see who is online. 19. RMS has server ratings and ads for servers. RCC has neither. RMS has a forum but lacks any integration with any other part of the site. RMS has no "social media" content aside from the forum. RMS does have an item and monster database, however, the search function is not very powerful compared to the one RCC will have. RMS does not have unified login. RMS does not have an XMPP server. RMS does not have a BitTorrent tracker. (as far as I know) RMS does not provide back-end integration with server websites. Yes. A bright aqua colored design with a fixed width layout is more professional than a dynamic width layout with no images. I think we have different definitions of professional. RCC is skinned entirely with CSS and has no images to reduce page load time. RMS is littered with (tacky) images. RCC will have user selectable skins. The site will likely change drastically as new features are implemented. Keep in mind while I've had this idea for years, this site was created literally yesterday.
  20. You know, I wasn't really sure what section, but it's targeted at rAthena so. Hey, maybe someone will make an rAthena channel on it? Who knows.
  21. Hello! The website Ragnarok.cc (RCC) has opened up. This site will be offering many services to both server owners and players soon. Right now it offers an XMPP/Jabber service and a web chat for that service. Later it will offer more. I'm also open to suggestions on what you would like to see. Currently the following things are planned: (Players) Item and monster databases with a powerful search tool. It will allow searching that is comparable to regular expressions but simpler to use. (Players) A forum (Both) Unified login for servers (like 'login with facebook' but with ragnarok.cc) (Both) The return of Ragray (Owners) BitTorrent tracker for installers (Owners) Advanced security controls for donations (Owners) Back-end integration for item/monster databases (that means you can use our search engine on your site) The community as a whole will also be integrated. You will be able to list servers you play, both ones allowing you to connect your account to RCC and ones that don't. More features, like automatically listing your characters, will only be available from servers that integrate fully. Integration will be fairly easy and will be explained in detail when that starts testing. I will need early adopters for this prior to a public test. There are some other things I have planned but don't really know the specifics of yet so I'll wait to post them. In the mean time I'll try to keep this topic updated until the forum is up (the forum will be one of the last things I work on from the list). Some things I think are worth noting: RCC will never share your email address, except with servers you connect with. RCC will not have ads. If ads must be added they will be amazon.com and/or web hosting ads. RCC will never endorse a server. Ads for RO servers will never be allowed either. You will not share your password with a server when connecting with it. Hope you enjoy.
