Private Server allowed?

I was wondering,

cause i was reading some Terms and conditions from a Hosting company.

 

Is it even allowed to have a private Ragnarok Server?

 

In the netherland  there is a Law saying we are not allowed to Distribute/download any files that arent copyrighted without paying an certain fee to the creator/original owner or something like that.


SO Now im wondering  is it even allowed To make an Ragnarok ONline Server, and let other people download it?

 

 

i cant realy find anything from the Creators of the official ragnarok online on the internet about the Private Server or anything...

 

 

so yah... is it legal to have a server and let other people download it?

No it's not legal. We're using their client files, sprites, effects, clients to make our servers without their consent. Do they care? We don't know. Do we do it anyways? Yes.

u make private server, the server emulator from open-source/shared project, it's legal.

 

the problem just, the client files, we/PS owner are/were "pretending" to don't know about file copyright, or...

Like or not, then we become an evil then, "I know it, I don't care about the Gravity files"

 

in some cases, some PS were "fighting" with company that has copyright to distribute RO in same region. Of course, the company is the winner, PS owner got "punishment" of course. I know some cases that happened in Indonesia, at least, 3 Local PS in Indonesian that I ever play has been forced to close judicially.
