They are using 32 bit bmp files on some of the icons and buttons which for some reason is not supported by most of the clients. I encountered that problem too one time, when I tried to include translated english buttons from an official grf to the grf i'm creating. That error pop up too. ILuckily I found translated buttons that were compatible here in rAthena forums. It's because the image bmp file format weren't supported. For the gibberish text, I think you should diff your client using Shin's Diff Patcher to have the gibberish Korean text translated to English. Be sure to have the needed plugin for the translation.
