insarius Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 MySQL installation goes fine, but when I try to 'execute' the server itself, it just freezes up at Writing .ini file. Anyone help? My brother tried checking everything, didn't get it working either. Yes: I have administrator privileges Firewall and Anti Virus turned off Tried both 64 and 32 bit Redownloaded and reinstalled several times. Quote
Bin4ry Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 It only happens when you have duplicated MySQL server installs or you did not uninstall properly last time. Quote
insarius Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 It only happens when you have duplicated MySQL server installs or you did not uninstall properly last time. So I've read somewhere just now. Thanks for telling me this in a really simplified way, now I understand completely what it actually said. xD I will, when I come home, delete MySQL and all residue, and re-install it. Thanks Quote
Krevex Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Forewarning. MySQL has issues if you uninstall then reinstall the program without restarting inbetween. Save yourself hours of fixing a corrupt MSI package and reboot between uninstall/reinstall Quote
