Okay, so my basic problem is simple, the sprite and act files aren't being read while in my grf. Infact anychanges i make and put into my grf aren't being read.

And yes, my client is diffed for read multiple grfs / Do NOT read LUA before LUB and do NOT read data folder first.

I'm using 2012-05-15a client, so everything is done through iteminfo.lub.

I've added my sprites to the correct folder following the guide on the wiki (where to put the files). However, they act as if they are not there.

They do however, get read if I put them directly into my RO's data folder. But i don't want to do this. Is there a reason/fix to why its behaving this way?

Additionally, my custom item's Collection/Item .bmp files are not appearing as well.

[Half-Solved] - bmp files were the wrong format, so they weren't showing up properly.

But the issue regarding why files aren't being read from my grf still remains. Anyone know whow i can fix this?

I personally tried using iteminfo and added all my custom items etc. However, I couldn't even get the images to show up. I believe I fixed the sprites to show up.. I should recheck. But it's really tricky.. I don't think iteminfo reads anything else other then the data folder.. I would assume? o_o

Yea, I'm starting to think the same thing, however for images showing up, i got them to appear, by re-saving-as bmp files using Adobe Fireworks.

Wouldn't simple Paint saving it as BMP be the same? Why the use of Fireworks? o_o

I have them as PNGs -.-; So seeing as how, i can just rename a file to be a bmp, i didn't realize that RO wouldn't read them properly. So, i still had the original PNG files, which is why i used Fireworks.

No need of Adobe Fireworks tho, MS paint has ability to save .png to 24bit bitmap.

For your issue, I'm not sure have you tried this first > I usually have 2 folders - Local Folder (Read Data before GRF, for Local), and 1 is Public Folder (That every players' using). So I will usually do everything in local folders first and see if no problem, then I move the copy files to patcher and let Public client update them.

Yea, I do that too, just the thing is, I have a 2012 renewal client, 2012-05-15a to be specific, and i was informed that i should NOT use ' Read Data before GRF '. But if that is not the case i'd be more than willing to change the way its diff'd.

Yeah, exactly, you can't have the data folder be a priority because new clients use the /System folder which contains other necessary files in order for the client to function as well. =/

Sorry but I don't get it. Its only for local use and what's the problem using data before grf? Nothing bugged me using /data in 05-15 and before the diff was release I'm even using the batch execute method to force read data.
