what are the things needed inside an installer?

I'm not sure

hmmm.... aside from the my own grf and exe

do I need to grf my whole data folder?

what are the necessary things that shouldn't be in grf?

For a lite installer you should have:

  • Your client.exe.
  • Your patcher.exe.
  • Your data folder.
  • Your grf.
  • Any other files that relate to your client.

For the full installer you should have:

  • A complete RO folder with everything the light installer has.

your custom items (if you have made one)

Otherwise, if you don't want to put your custom items (I mean if you don't want to make a modification of the default kRO), just ignore the data folder except: clientinfo.xml (google it or find it in the Wiki).
