Okay so um...I set up everything just like I would with every other sql server i've set up but for some reason my friend still cant connect....

I replaced all my IPs for posting it here of course.

char_athena.conf

// Login Server IP
// The character server connects to the login server using this IP address.
// NOTE: This is useful when you are running behind a firewall or are on
// a machine with multiple interfaces.
login_ip: LANIP Went Here
// Character Server IP
// The IP address which clients will use to connect.
// Set this to what your server's public IP address is.
char_ip: WANIP Went Here

map_athena.conf

// Character Server IP
// The map server connects to the character server using this IP address.
// NOTE: This is useful when you are running behind a firewall or are on
// a machine with multiple interfaces.
char_ip: LANIP Again
// Map Server IP
// The IP address which clients will use to connect.
// Set this to what your server's public IP address is.
map_ip: WANIP Again

subnet_athena.conf

subnet: 255.255.255.0:WANIP:WANIP

clientinfo.xml

   <connection>
    <display>Test Server</display>
    <desc>Sakray Client</desc>
    <address>WANIP</address>
    <port>6900</port>
    <version>28</version>
    <langtype>1</langtype>
    <balloon>Sakray Client</balloon>
    <aid>
	    <admin></admin>
    </aid>
   </connection>

Make sure when you diff you enabled read data folder, OR if you already packed your xml to your server's grf, make sure you set DATA.INI.
