Hey guys,

I recently got my hands into this bRO beta Aug 2004 client (https://www.mediafire.com/file/1garqrwz0qmfm1q/bro+beta.rar/file) and I wanna make this client work with any server. What would be the best eAthena version to pair with this version? Does anyone have any tips on where to start? I was already able to make it open on Windows 11 by patching a few things on the binary, but now I wanna work on the server and would like to start from the best place possible.

Thanks,

The recvpackets.txt is 2004-08-16aSakexe as we see in packet_ver: 9

Probably any rev >= svn540

Thanks for the input @Fips! I'm curious, how exactly you got to this conclusion? Can you explain me the thought process to get into this packet_ver and then into this specific rev? I wanna understand more about how this work.

You can extract recvpackets.txt from an unknown Ragexe.exe to analyze.
The packet list is a hint to the version.

Each packet is in the emulator.

eathena packets
cronus packets
rathena packets

I don't think u need to use an old version. rAthena as example supports older versions and is more stable as the old revisions. But u have to try if rAthena works with this old client. Maybe u need some source modding.
