Help with permission.

I'm really confuse what happen. The cp working fine and I can access it, then I tried typing this command

chmod -R 644 /var/www

 

then everything suddenly lost all permissions.

I'm sorry, i'm really not knowledgeable on this.

try changing permissions to 755 or 777

chmod -R 755 /var/www
