logserv closes 127.0.0.1 after immediately login

Okay, so, the issue is summed up by my thread title. I run the sql batch file and everything loads perfectly fine and the server connects. UNFORTUNATELY the moment it accepts my username ([status]: connection of the account 'mule' accepted.) it then says [info]: Closed connection from '127.0.0.1'.

So after I log into the account if I wait a few seconds it'll just "failed to connect to server"- plus if i try to load a character it'll hold on the loading screen 'til it fails to connect to server.

I went in and performed a check on my sql log files with no found error but still went ahead and repaired them with no issues.

Now what is exceptionally odd is I didn't actually DO anything that could cause this (immediately?) because my server ran completely fine last time I played. I've been busy since and this is my first time logging in for about a week. I haven't touched any files during my down time between logs so I'm a tad flummoxed.

I've checked similar issues in the rAthena forum to no avail. Same result with searching google.

 

I'm pretty new to all this business so do tell me if you need specific info on this or that to help help, haha.

The last file I edited in rAthena was the "groups.conf" if that helps narrow things down. I'm perusing the file now to see if I can find any herps or derps.

Hi there, I've had this issue countless times moving server machines around. It seems really picky about certain network setups and rAthena config settings. Sometimes its quite picky about this setting in your char_athena.conf "char_ip: [your internet ip]", which if your connecting using your actual ip address then it needs to match, if your connecting via localhost (127.0.0.1) then make this 127.0.0.1, there is another option in char_athena.conf "login_ip: 127.0.0.1" i have to leave commented out and have the emulator auto assume 127.0.0.1 to work. Just setting this to 127.0.0.1 does not work for me but used to. Pasting your conf files here (char_athena.conf, login_athena.conf, map_athena.conf and inter_athena.conf) plus a screen of your rAthena starting up might would be helpful if playing with those first suggestions aren't of any help.

All the info in char_athena.conf was correct. I double checked but they'd functioned fine before too so I didn't think that was it :x

I found a similar thread in the forum, it notes that the issue may be that the packetver (I use 20111303) may need a different version # in clientinfo.xml (mine is set to 26)

I don't think this is the issue since these were my settings back when the server was working fine but worth noting I thought.

Yeah the error messages with these not connect issue its awful (probably because the emulator hasn't a clue theres even a problem). Did you try commenting our your login_ip setting in your char_athena? Also you made me recall another similar issue i had was a client issue, i didn't diff it with....."Disable Packet Encryption", and do not use "Use SSO Login Packet", "Packet First Key Encryption", "Packet Second Key Encryption". Now that being said these are diffs for a 2013-08-07, which is one im using, you may have better luck with a 2012-04-10, which is rAthena supported 2012 client, if your doing renewal however 2013-08-07 is 100% stable and supported.

 

I normally just play with stuff until something else break or something gets fixed. (breaking stuff usually leads to more understanding which leads to fixes). There is just too many possible problems that have this same symptom. I didn't see anything wrong with your setup tho.

 

Oh yes so try commenting out the "login_ip:" option and try uncommenting "//char_ip: 98.165.9.16" and setting to 127.0.0.1, your wan ip, and your internet ip.

trying the changes to the longin ip, the char ip, and the others provided no solutions. I use shin's diff patcher for mine, will that still be useable if I change it to 2013-08-07- also, where can I find 2013-08-07? Lastly: will it need data v1, 2, or 3?

Well all of the client exe stuff you need can be found in this post http://rathena.org/board/topic/82726-2013-ragexe-and-diff-up-to-date-2013-08-07 from the exe file, the differ, the diff files, the modifications to the mmo.h in the emulator core the clientinfo.xml, which should be packet ver 45 for the newest emulator version.

 

You will need to download the newest version of rAthena using the Github, and you'll need the version 4.0 of the complete basic data folder here http://rathena.org/board/topic/66962-basic-complete-renewal-data-english-folder/

 

Just follow the sorta instructions in that first link and you should be ok, if you have any question just ask, its the same setup im using, once thats all done we can rule out client-server versions as an issue:) lol

do you mean I need to download just the newest r-athena.sln or re-download the WHOLE r-athena file and re-modify all the files therin?

Please say it isn't the former.

Well either method will work, you just need to commit your current changes, git pull to the newest version, recompile, update your sql if your using sql and that should do it. To get the newest version of rAthena.

Had the same problem yesterday.

 

edit your "subnet_athena.conf" in your /conf folder and add two subnets, one for localhost and another for your LAN ip:

 

example:

subnet: 255.255.255.0:192.168.1.2:192.168.1.2
subnet: 255.0.0.0:127.0.0.1:127.0.0.1

just change "192.168.1.2" to whatever your LAN IP is.

 

and the configs on the "map_athena.conf" and "char_athena.conf" are: first IP is LAN, second IP is WLAN.

do not confuse LAN IP with localhost... localhost is "127.0.0.1", LAN is generally "192.168.1.2" or something like that.

 

if you can't connect, edit JUST YOUR "clientinfo.xml" to connect to localhost IP.
