client troubles help

so i tried and failed quiet a number of times. to set up client and server though im feeling more confident in the server side is running.

im having no luck with the client sort of things
started with grabing the ragexe from http://rathena.org/board/topic/82726-2013-ragexe-and-diff-up-to-date-2013-07-03/
    the one i chose was a newer one and it came from  2013-05-22Ragexe.exe

i then used the Diff patcher version 2 from privous forum website the dl came from

tried to patch it with no avail it needed another file.
    I later found out i needed to use another file with this
        the specific one i chose was the Diff 2013-05-22 v8   (28/06/13)
                this one came from http://www.mediafire.com/download/f8xpzarvsl6950r/2013-05-22Ragexe.xdiff
got stuck here. because i was un sure on what data folder to get the one from this

although seeing as the server part worked well for me and is currently up. i chose the later datav4.0
so i go ahead and patch the 2013-05-22Ragexe.exe + Diff 2013-05-22 v8 with the Patcher and chose the setting from

using the patched .exe i tossed it in to the Ro file that i got off RMS, i went to the clientinfo.ini and made sure i set the version i think it was 36

next i started the grf with that Data V 4.0 that i stated earlier and named it the same as the .grf

i later went in to the Ro folder and Created a data.ini and set it to 0 =  .grf then tossed that in to the Ro folder

then i went to server/mmo.h and made sure it was right packet version

but still nothing worked pls if i missed anything let me know or if there is an up-to-date thread teaching or video showing what to do pls link it thank you for you time
